My hair is only 7 inches long right now (measured from the scalp)- so I've got growing to do- but even then they don't accept dyed hair. I have an addiction to dying my hair and do it about 5 times a year

Here's the Locks of Love website:

According to their criteria, they need a minimum of 10" (tip to tip), and dyed hair is okay, while BLEACHED hair is not acceptable. "If unsure, ask your beautician."

I am a hairdresser. It must be 10 inches in a pony tail. I would check around because I work at sears Hair Studio/ Premier Salons Inc. We accept it and it all goes to the same place(locks of love) so Im not sure why they wouldnt accept it dyed or not.

They require at least 10 inches of hair. They will accept dyed hair if the hair has not been bleached or permed.

I think the hair that you cut off has to be at least 12 inches long.

I don't know of anywhere that accepts dyed hair, sorry.

Kudos to you for wanting to donate your hair!

It's funny that I saw this question :) Your hair - from the nape of your neck - has to be 10 inches.,and not layered or tapered. I'm actually growing mine for that right now,and have 3 inches to go in the back. It has to be put in a ponytail and 10" be able to be cut off. If you can stick it out,do it,I say. :)
