no, but definitely some people try to control people USING the bible.

in some ways yes in others no it's only what you make of it .
I'm an atheist but I find it an interesting literary work from which one may glean much of moral value as well as pitfalls of specious attempts at truth . use your best judgment.

yes, it is directed to make us be nice and kind, thoughtful, respectful, use common sense and a lot of other GREAT things people nowadays don't believe in.

God gave mankind free will to choose what to believe in.

No, I believe it is what it claims to be: given by inspiration of God. In my experience, and I've been studying it for ten years, it has transformed my life. That is because the word of God is living and active.
