Money and sex are the top two things most people (married or in a long-term, live-in relationship) fight about.

And, the reason people fight about both of those is because the two people each have a different expectation and valuation of the thing (sex, money).

When the fight is about money, typically one side likes to save more and places a higher value on money, and the savings provides a sense of security. To the other person, they value savings less, and see no problem with spending money, even if they don't have it. The two have different views and valuations of money.

Understanding why you both view money differently is the root to getting past this as a big issue. Sure, you will still disagree, but you will know why and how best to move past it into an agreeable compromise.

Are you talking about money as in how much you guys are spending on your dates? If that is so, you guys can always offer to split. That way, there is no arguing. But, I think the person who planned the date/ask first should offer to pay first- that's just manners. Otherwise, you can go on dates that require no money. Eat at each other's houses, go for a walk in the park, etc.

Yes, unfortunately. Most people don't want to admit it and that is why they quarrel. The best way to solve it, is to admit that money is an issue in your relationship. And balance your budget. Good luck.
