It can't refute the basic idea of any gods which are conveniently invisible, inaudible, and basically impossible to detect in any way.

It can refute specific claims (such as: there was a universal flood several thousand years ago, the universe is less than 10,000 years old, the sun revolves around the earth). Not that that does any good; theists can simply refuse to acknowledge science (as they do in the united states with evolution, geology, astronomy, and anything else that conflicts with their scripture)

hmm, interesting question, i will go out on a limb and say, science wont refute religious teachings, i think eventually it will reinforce a lot of them. For instance, the idea that all things are created from one source. They are discovering in quantum physics this may not be so far fetched, as they have discovered all things are made of photons. Photons that seem to work with each other no matter the distance between them. just my thoughts on it

Absolutely NOT....as a matter of fact, when those scientists were planning on sending the spacecraft into space, but they couldn't figure the plan, for bringing it back, guess how they found the answer....a Christian scientist showed them where the sun was held back........

The Bible says, "There is no new thing under the sun, no, not one" Wonder what that means? Remember, It's been a bit over 2000 years since the Lord Jesus walked the earth, not since the beginning of time.

Some people might wish it could do so one day.

But the truth is, Christianity has been around for 2,000 years -- and science, even though it has made huge advances over the years, has not been able to refute a single Christian religious teaching.

I think science supports religious teachings... 1500 years ago and even less than that they didn't have scientific ways to explain all the events that occurred in the Bible, so they explained them the best way they knew how. Just because we know how an earthquake works with tectonic plates, heat & all, doesn't mean that God didn't cause or allow it to happen, it just means we know more about the great & wonderful ways God works. (Not that earthquakes are great & wonderful, I live in California, they're not too much fun!)

Science can say anything they want, come to any conclusion they want, and refute all they want.

Jesus said "heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away". Each person gets to choose who to believe.

It already can to a certain extent, however the people who need to study science the most are too busy reading the bible instead.
