Well I was raised southern baptise and I was always told the Jews were God's chosen people. We used the old King James version of the bible. Down in Israel there has been war over the conflicting religions. The Jews say there God's chosen people but the Islamic people believe they are Mohammed's (God with a different name) chosen people. Both claim God wants them to have Israel because it is considered holy land.
The Jews believe they are God's chosen people because it is considered the blood line of the original people and the descendant of Jesus( From a baptise teachings) The Jews believe Jesus has not come yet but will be of Jewish blood.

God made a covenant with Abraham , that from His seed all the nations of the world will be blessed.
The sign of covenant was that Abraham was to circumcise all the males born from His seed from generation to generation, to Isaac Jacob, whose name became Israel, and so on even untill the time of Jesus, and even today it is still being done.
We Christian believe that the blessings to the whole world was complete in Jesus.
The Jews are the children of Israel, in biblical terms.
The first Christians were Jews. The word Chosen meant
“Set aside”.
We Christians still and always will love the Jews like brothers/sisters, we are very much connected to them, their enemies are ours, so to speak.
Even if they do not except Jesus, It is in God's hands.
The Jews are the people of our Lord Jesus Christ
in that Jesus was a Jew,blessed be He.
I believe that Jesus was given to the Gentile and the Jew is given the Holy Temple and a great King. I believe that they are still chosen,"Set Aside", because no where in the bible does it say God changed His mind.
This was a very good question, and look forward to some real good answers,maybe the Jews can answer a bit better, it is kind a like their Story as much as anybodys

G-d chose the jewish people to bring knowlege of Him to the nations of the world. That is all that is meant by "chosen."
You choose which dress to wear in the morning. You choose which way you will walk to school. You choose what you will eat for dinner. so, would that make the black skirt the "chosen clothes"? - sure, but it's not bettr than any other skirt. Would it make Main street the chosen street? - yep, but not a street better than any other one. Would it make the rice and beans the chosen food? of course, but that doesn't mean that the chicken wouldnt have been a good choice - it is just that the rice and beans was able to satisfy your needs.
The Jewish people took on the chore of telling the nations about G-d. They promised to do and observe, and offered their children as a guarantee. G-d had made the offer to other peoples, but they did not do all of that. So, He chose the Jews.

They claim it because God Himself declared it:
"The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt." -Deuteronomy 7:6-8
The sad thing is that they don't recognize Jesus as the promised Messiah. Throughout the Old Testament, they were often described as a stubborn and stiff-necked people. Sadly, the same can be said of many Christians today as well.

The Hebrew Scriptures.... aka the Old Testament of the Bible aka the Torah.
They're called the Hebrew Scriptures for a reason... they were supposedly given to the Hebrews (God's people) by the God of Abraham.
(I don't personally worship the God of Abraham, but Jews, Christians, and Muslims all do. I personally believe ALL people are God's people.)

Anyone who accepts Christ into their life becomes a chosen person of God. The true Israel are those who become children of God not just the Jews.

This is just my point of view as a Christian and does not include any aspects of other religions, such as Buddhism.
First thing to remember that in the Bible, things that come in threes represent perfection.
Nearly 2000 years after creation, the Jews were the first of God’s Chosen People.
They began as an overall small group, emerging from a mixed heritage with all other humans.
ï¡Their beliefs did not match most of the commonly held beliefs of the day;
ï¡The believed in one God and not multiple gods or godheads;
ï¡They did not observe the traditionally held observances and holidays of the time;
ï¡There were well educated individuals of other beliefs who could prove they were a false religion and a cult;
ï¡They separated themselves from those of other beliefs; and
ï¡They were persecuted for their beliefs.
Nearly 2000 years of the existence of the Jews, the Christians became the Second of God’s Chosen People.
âThey began as an overall small group, emerging from the Jews, but later including people from other religions;
âTheir beliefs did not match most of the commonly held beliefs of the day;
âThey believed that the Messiah had come despite the fact that Armageddon did not start, along with the destruction of false religion, as the Jews believed would happen;
âThey did not observe traditionally held observances and holidays of the time;
âThere were well educated individuals (Saul of Tarsus) in the Jewish beliefs who could prove they were a false religion, and a cult - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saul_of_Tarsus;
âThey separated themselves from those of other beliefs; and
âThey were persecuted for their beliefs.
Now, the question is who is the third group, representing perfection, to be considered the Chosen People of God?
â¸They will be an overall small group, compared to the size of Christendom, from which they emerged;
â¸Their beliefs will not match most of the commonly held beliefs of Christendom;
â¸They may believe that the Messiah has come a second time despite the fact that Armageddon did not start, along with the destruction of false religion;
â¸They wouldn’t observe the traditionally held observances and holidays;
â¸There will be well educated individuals who, like their predecessors of 2000 and 4000 years ago could with the Jews and Christians, prove that they are a false religion, and a cult;
â¸They will separated themselves from those of other beliefs; and
â¸They were persecuted for their beliefs.
So, the question to ask yourself is who is this third group? Is it your church?

The Torah says it. The Torah is the first five books of the Christian Old Testament (Jewish Bible).
At least use good English if you are going to slam my religion.
