First and foremost, If you want to improve your concentration and efficiency as a student, develop a place to study that is just that - a place where you go to work on academics. Experiment with what works best for you. Other useful tips include:

- Study in chunks: 20-50 minute time periods followed by a brief break (5-10 minutes) is the most effective way to study
- Use daylight hours: an hour of studying during the day is worth two at night! Do the work that requires the most concentration (typically reading) earliest in the day.
- Rank your classes and be sure to spend time on your most challenging class everyday and early in the day.
- Study actively: ask yourself questions, review your notes regularly, discuss key concepts with peers and course professor

Studying is more effective if you start a few days before the test/exam. For about an hour each night before test day, you go over notes and study. but if you really want to study in a long period of time, you should be in a quiet environment with no one there to bother you and take a wuick break every hour or so. hope this helps.

Taking breaks when needed, asking questions, writing self tests, marking self tests, eating while studying, making sure not to drink too much coffee and sleeping at least 6 hours a night to allow the information to 'set in'.

One of the best things for study is to go to a health store and get some DMAE. you may have heard that fish food makes you smart and this is what does that. You will not feel any different but you will find that DMAE increases memory concentration and that it does improve your ability to study. I take it myself - it is all natural - and several friends who are students also swear that it has helped them as well.
