I hate when people who don't own a pitt talk crap. Pitt's can be the most gentle loving dogs. it all depends on how YOU raise them. If you teach them to fight and be rough...thats what you will get. If you give them love and train them they will be your best friend. I brought a 2 yr old pitt into my home to befriend my 2yr old chow. They became best friends. And you want to feel safe...no one could walk past my house without my knowing it. I now have a 4 month old pitt/lab that is such a lover...and fun!

Pay no attention to Boomer. His response is just filled with stupid hate and misunderstanding of the Pit Bull strains. Those dogs are not aggressive toward people unless taught to do so.They were originally developed for protecting man against other animals, mostly animals in the wild. They are the most couragous of all dog breeds and very strong. Those that have attacked people were taught to attack people or in some cases were used as a fighting dog previously. Train your pit to allow you to touch her food when she is eating and if you can do that she will not bother your little male dog. Use something that looks like a hand and on a long enough handle so that if she does bite she will not bite you. If she does bite at the fake hand, then chances are that she will always be aggressive about food and you should then never allow the two to eat together. Separate them so that they can't get to each other during feeding time.

I think it should be ok. i have a pittbull and 2 cats and the cats use to sleep next to my pitt when they were kittens. now that everyone has grown up they still get along ok. not like sleeping together or anything any more but still ok. also my mom has chewawwa and it cleans my Pitt's teeth while he has his head in my dogs mouth. i u bring your pitt up in a loving home he will love everyone, except your enemies hehe. oh and pittbulls arn't dangerous just the people that raise them incorrectly are.more people get bit by cockerspaniels the pitts

YOU KNOW WHAT, I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. BUT MY CHIHUAHUAS IS THE ONE THAT IS PICKING ON MY PITT. I WONDER IF ONE DAY MY PIT WILL HAVE ENOUGH AND DECIDE TO UNLEASH HIS ANGER BACK ON THE CHIHUAHUAS. BUT SO FAR, 2 YRS HAVE GONE BY AND NOTHING HAVE HAPPEN. I'M ALWAY CAUTIOUS ABOUT IT STILL CONSIDERING THEY STILL ACT LIKE BABIES.
SO DONT WORRY TO MUCH, IF SHE WOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING... SHE WOULD DONE IT A LONG TIME AGO.
JUST REMEMBER TO MONITOR YOUR BIGGER DOG AND IF YOU SEE ANY TYPE OF AGGRESSION, PUT A STOP TO IT RIGHT AWAY. TO SHOW HIM THAT YOU DON'T LIKE IT. AFTER ALL, UR RESPONSIBILITY IS NOT ONLY BEING ALPHA DOG, BUT THE PEACE MAKER AS WELL.

If she is spayed, you will have less likey of a chance of her developing dog aggression. But since they have "grown-up" together, she might be totally fine with him. Just make sure, if she starts to get a little edgy, that you separate them and figure out what triggers her.

if you train and well socialize the dogs, plus have them spayed and neutered this will help cut down on the chance of a fight. you take a chance with any big dog and small dog. a little tif between the two could harm the small dog. just be aware and watch for signs of any trouble headed for you. like are they food aggressive, toy, rawhide protective, etc.....if they are prevent it from happening. walk both dogs regularly and keep them well exercised. enroll them in a training class. this will help them bond with you and teach them you are the leader in the house and to listen to you. and will cut down on the chance either of them will argue with one another, since they will look to you for direction. good luck.

I wouldnt worry about it, i have 8 dogs [all different kinds] and they all grew up together as puppies, and we've never had any problems with them fighting, if you see them start to fight [and really fight, not just play] then you might want to start punishing her, just tell her no everytime, she'll eventually learn!

I wouldn't!!! Don't believe these people that say "ALL pits are bad." Every dog is different, if there is no aggression there should be no problems!

Pit bulls are a very dangerous.. breed of dog....
true they are loyal..... but as your female dog matures.. she will be very territorial...... I would not only worry about your little male dog.. but the trouble you will have with her as she gets older... she could turn on your friends.. family,,, and we have all heard the stories of the pit bull's who have killed people.......
I truly believe that this breed needs to be culled .. and not allowed to reproduce, as too many of them need to be "put down" due to aggression ...... With all the breeds of dogs in the world....Why did you get a "pit" in the first place?
