It is not so much the question of age than maturity.
Most people can say 16 or 18 but the question is the person ready for the issues invovled.
I will suggest that the person focus his or her attention on education and the fullfilment of their dreams and as they grow older and mature they will find the right person and move on from there.
That will ensure they avoid the emotional truama that comes with dating others as immature as at their ages of adolescence.

I would say 16, but I never went on a date until I was 18. And I started going out with my boyfriend when I was 19. I'm not sorry at all that I never dated in high school, even though I was unhappy with it then. So many people get too attached in high school and then go away to separate colleges, which can be really difficult. So I guess my point is, it's sometimes good to avoid serious relationships until out of high school.

I say 25. Why? Because that is about the age you graduate from College & you are ready to settle down.
I am 26 & have never dated.

I would have to say 16. It's mid-way between too young and old enough. By this age, you should be able to go alone and be trusted to keep a curfew and follow certain rules.

one should be mature enough to start dating.completing school,or being over 18 to me does not mean that you are now mature.one needs to be not just physically ready but also psychologically mature because dating comes with so many things.
