I used to be afraid of thunder and lightning so badly that I would go over and sleep with my parents, but now I find it has a natural sound that rocks me to sleep(except the louder ones wake me up)

I'm not afraid of thunderstorms I love them, I think they are beautiful to watch on a summers night. We have even driven out in to the country away from the lights to get a better view of the light show. i remember my mom telling me when I was a little kid and was awakened in the middle of the night by a storm that it was the angels in heaven bowling and some nights they were moving their furniture, she always had an explanation for everything(still does). There is a phobia of thunderstorms but I'm not sure of the scientific name try Google. We live on the prairies and in a real hot summer we can get a thunder storm just about every night and they are really loud and bright and I've lived in British Columbia too and when you get a thunder storm there you can hardly hear it. Nice hat in your Avatar by the way.

No, but once in a while, when a really big one comes I can get scared, especially if a siren goes off, for a tornado warning! I have always loved thunder, lightning and wind, but my sister is opposite, and I feel bad for her about it. I think there is an official name, for a phobia of it, but I don't know what it is. I hope that maybe this gets better for you, as we have no control over it, etc. Take care, and know you are not alone in this. Wish I could help more.

I'm afraid of a lot of things but not a thunder storm. I love them. They're a powerful expression of nature & I love the smell of rain and also how the air feels so clean.

No. Provided I'm in a decent shelter, I find them to be much more entertaining that the usual drizzle.
Fear of lightning and thunder is called Brontophobia.

Thunderstorms give me nightmares at night, I have a hard time falling asleep with the loud noises and I get nightmares like that, they wake me up in the midnight hours, so I'm afraid of them, unless they're on my sound machine then no I'm not afraid of the ones on my sound machine, but I am afraid of the real ones outside.
So yes and no!
