have you ever thought about a staring contest?

no im just kidding but, what i do is take an empty can and put some penny in it and throw it at my dog (doesn't hurt him) each time he stare or do something bad. the can will scare the dog and show him that U don't like it. make sure to say EH!!!! really loud and keep on repeating it.

Make sure that the can have enough penny to make it extra loud

Dogs are "Scavengers" by Nomenclature, they want your food, their noses go nuts from the smell because, they are 100 times more sensitive than yours, they also have "X-RAY" vision to see through the table, ever notice they get real "squirrely" when you are about to eat the last piece of meat on the plate, they can't see over the table, how do they know ?????? Put the dog in another room while eating, always feed the dog 1st (sounds good but, they still "Beg" they're DOGS ! that's what they do ! NEVER feed a dog people food ( a little treat once in a while is OK, as soon as you feed them from the table, YOU'RE DEAD), Dogs live longer if they are fed dog food, it's more nutritious for them, better balanced, and less fat !

All dogs will stare at a person eating something. Why? Because they want some of what you are eating and waiting for you to recognize their desire. Naturally when you try to make her stop she might growl. But this is not good and you should do something about her growling at you. She is becoming the dominate one not you and this could lead to her actually biting you for food. See a good trainer about this.

You have people food. She has dog food. She wants people food. She can't say, "Hey mom, I want that" so she looks at you to let you know she wants it. Unfortunately, if you have fed her off the table in the past, this is going to be incredibly hard to break her of this habit, and you just might have to put her in a different room until you are done eating.

The best thing for you to do is start feeding your dog everytime you go to eat. If your dog doesn't eat her food then when you're done pick up her feed bowl and don't try to feed her until the next meal. She'll eventually get hungry and leave you alone to enjoy her own food.

She wants your food so unless you want to take her to be trained and then hope she stops I suggest taking her to the other room. Dogs will eat even though they aren't hungry and she simply wants to try what ever you are eating to see if it is as good or better than the stuff you feed her.

my dog was like this for like 2 years! what we did is everytime she looked at us [when we were eating] if she growled we would tell her no, and point away from us, and eventually she learned that if we're eating not to beg for food or growl!

You should put her outside when you eat. A little thing called 'gesture eating' is a good idea , first you eat then you feed your dog after , this shows who's dominant and should help her manners.

This is a dominance issue!!! The best thing to do is take her to a obedience class. Be sure to talk to the trainer and tell them your problem and that you have been told that it is a dominance problem. A good trainer will tell/show you how to overcome this and many other problems you may have with your dog.

She is trying to intimidate or charm you into giving her some of ur food. While you are eating give her a toy or a treat to take her focus off of you.
