It depends on your pain tolerance, some people find the same place more painful than others so it's hard to say. But I have a tattoo on my shoulder blade and it really didn't hurt a whole lot, the only part that was really painful to were about the first 10 minutes, after that I got use to the feeling and it felt more like a stinging itch. Then near the end it kind of hurt as by this time the area was pretty sore. Overall though on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being most painful, I would say my experience was a 5 or 5 and a half. It wasn't nearly as painful as I thought it would be.

My first tattoo was in the same place. You will get so many mixed reviews for an answer though so it will be hard to judge. I was nervous as anything, because I had been told that I should expect it to be painful, but when I did have it done it didn't hurt me whatsoever, I could just feel vibrations, if anything the noise was unsettling before it started as you gear yourself up more for pain. Anyway, nobody can give you a sure answer specific to you. As it honestly depends on your body's pain tolerance. Mine is high and none of my tattoos have hurt me. Don't let the thought of pain put you off, it's an addictive feeling if anything anyway :) Good luck, you'll be fine :)

it'll hurt but it is totally bearable. i have a tattoo covering my back. so far the most painful part has been the tattooing on my spine. so that part will definitely hurt. so compared to that pain the rest of it is really cake. that seems like a large tattoo to be done in one sitting. i guess it depends on how much detail there is but it should take atleast two sittings. i wouldn't be willing to sit for one tattoo for more than 3 1/2 hours it WILL start to hurt much more after that.

I have a tattoo between my shoulder blades and yes it hurt but it wasn't unbearable. That area is quite sensitive because of all the nerves associated with the spine but the end result will hopefully be worth it.

Hi Anti, I had 3 difference tats put across my middle back. It did hurt some, but not as much as i thought.Even my lower back tat didn't hurt that much.I think the one that hurt more that the others was a tat i had put just below my panty line. That one i had to bear down my teeth some. Hey,what ever works. I have 5 tats, and i love them. A Friend

I was watching this thing on tv about tattoos and the artist said that anyplace where there is a lot of bone is going to be painful because the needle will be hitting the bone.

A pinprick hurts anywhere. This will hurt for sure.
Why a permanent thing that you may hate when fashion changes.
Or when you grow older and may one day be embarrassed.
Do give it a thought again. Is it worth all the effort? Some things are not worth spending on either.

DO NOT GET A TATTOO!!! Those are permanent and a lot easier and a lot less expensive to get on than off! Think of when you are 80 and have that tattoo. Do your grandparents have marks on them??
