Do you agree? Countless of wars have been fought because of religion. People are separated because of religion.

My friend told his parents he is questioning his religion and they almost disowned him.

With Religion, we will never become Unified because as long as it exists, everyone's beliefs will Clash. So when will we be at peace and unified? Probably Never.

One religion within itself brings those people together. However, when you bring together Islam and Judaism, you created a war. Also, keep in mind that religion was created so that we'd have an answer for after death and for all unanswered questions way before science could understand, and we needed a scapegoat from all the misery that life gave us.

Then there comes organized religion, where we now have churches, synagogues, etc. which leads to miscommunication and rivalries.

To me, religion is more on your beliefs/morals, your practice of faith, and your relationship with a higher being or yourself. It isn't that religion itself causes war, but more of the people miscommunicating and misunderstanding others, along with a hint of stubbornness.

Your frustration with religion is well founded. Religion is just a tool like a knife. It can be used for good, and it can be used for evil. Much evil has come from religion, when used improperly by ignorant people. But there is also a very good and uplifting part of religion. I take the good and leave the rest behind.

I don't agree that religion in itself is the problem. Islam has been given a bad name when the problems relate to government policy, poverty, globalization, the history of colonialism, a lack of democracy and many other reasons. People forget about the impact of American foreign policy in this region, especially in Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan.

Certainly fundamentalism can be a problem but it is a reaction to certain economic and social problems that haven't been addressed. Until the root causes of fundamentalism are addressed, it will not go away. It is also important to remember that the Christian right in America does not hold mainstream American views and yet they exercise great power in the government through the President, media, and their lobbies.

God is not willing that any should perish. Those who refuse to acknowledge God and who rebel against the good news in Jesus Christ don't want to be around those who receive him. It's not hard to see that if a person turns away from the world and no longer has anything to do with what the world does that the world isn't going to want to have anything to do with that person. And yet God will not turn anyone away, no matter what they've done in the past.

Hi Itza_Me. I believe wars over money have caused far more wars that peoples religious beliefs. God tells us that money is the root of all evil (this includes wars) in
1 Timothy 6:9-10:
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

But there is hope and good news for those who strive to do the will of God. In 1 Timothy 6:11 God assures us:

"But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness."

When Jesus returns we will be at peace in unity.

Atheism has killed the most.

Bless you, David T

According to University of Hawaii
political scientist Rudolph J. Rummel,1 the total number killed in all of human history is
estimated to be about 284,638,000. Of that number, 151,491,000 were killed during the
past 100 years. The single largest killer in all of human history is, by far, atheistic
Communism with a total of 110,000,000 … over 1/3 of all people ever killed! If we add
to that number just two other regimes where religion of any sort was strongly
discouraged, Nazi Germany and Nationalist China, the number rises to 141,160,000.
Almost 50% of all the killings in human history were committed in the past 100 years by
regimes that either actively promoted atheism or strongly discouraged religion. We have
not considered the over one billion abortions, where Christianity seems to be particularly
unwelcome. When the murders of history are tallied up, it is very clear that atheism is the
most dangerous philosophy ever embraced by humanity. The most effective restraint on
mankind's inherently evil tendencies is faith in God through Jesus Christ, a faith that
actually follows the teachings and commands of Jesus Christ as a daily way of life.

No... Christianity= Hate & Seperation. And by Christianity I mean all forms of it, Catholicism, Prodestan, Baptist, and the middle eastern forms of it like Jewish (is that the correct term), Islamic, Muslim, all those forms of Christian type things... those are the only religion I know of that create hate and seperation through their religion feats. That and the other religions that stemmed from it because they thought they would do what the bible said aka. sacrificial cults that like to do things like human sacrifice and rape children. All of those things that tie into Chistianity. All of it. Wiccans do create hate and seperation, niether does confusionism, or budism, or spiritualism, or Athiests, or agnostics, or witches, or pagans, or vampires, or other-kin. *shrugs shoulder* that's my opinion.

I disagree with you. If we uderstand the essence of religion, we won`t hate each other. Take Islam for example . It calls for peace and love. We as muslems are asked to spread peace and not to fight unless we are fought. Our prophet said that he will be angry with that who does anyone from other religions any harm . He added that we must be fair with others. The holy

I think most sepperation is due to people holding on to the past like a crutch. "I dont want to be around religous people because some did bad things a long time ago... that means they're ALL bad"

no its actually those who seek to police, censor and control what others believe that are the cause of problems. the extremists are the trouble makers . your bias is obvious and you are accusing a whole lot of ppl of wrong doing because of the actions of a few extremists. have you ever though that its really none of your business what others believe? you believe what you want and let others believe what they want...its called freedom of religion and if you verbally attack others for their beliefs you are exactly what you are ranting about....the close minded, bigoted religion police who seek to make others believe in nothing the way they do. its your choice lets other have theirs.
