Jesus' name was more likely to be "Yeshua". When the Bible was translated into English, some names were translated into English versions of the same names. Common names have lots of translations in different languages. Take the name "John" for example, which is "Juan" in Spanish and "Jean" in French. Make sense?

The names in the bible are very old. Not English. Thousands of years old.

My own name means honey bee in greek and is about 4000 years old. Names, and their derivatives, change over time but most come from much older times and areas.

A lot of "English" names are actually Greek or Hebrew names that have been "anglicized", that is, given a more English spelling and pronunciation. One example is Jacob. Hebrew in origin, it was originally Yacob. It also became James. In Spanish, St. Jacob (or St. James) became Santiago.
