Hi, I'm hard of hearing. I just bought the Veronica Mars season 2 set and found out that there are no English subtitles. I've tried setting my TV captions on, but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know any way for me to watch it with captions? It would be a shame to not be able to enjoy 23 episodes :(

check the dvd box to see if there is the ClosedCaption symbol on it. if none appears, then the DVD's aren't closed captioned. you wont be able to get captions. If there is a symbol for CC, then take your DVd's back to the store you bought them from and exchange them.

have to watch them with the volume turned up to a point where you can hear it.

According to the box:
http://www.amazon.com/Veronica-Mars-Complete-Second-Season/dp/B000FL7CAK/sr=8-1/qid=1169447606/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-1166324-4106425?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

The dvd set doesn't come with a English subtitle setting (0nly spanish and french). But it says its closed caption. Play with your tV Settings. it could be set to cc2 in stead of cc1.

None that I am aware of, unfortunately.
Typically captions / subtitles are pre generated texts. You actually make a text file and set up the time when the text shows up. Essentially teh same for TV too, it is broadcast with the television signal. I will however, look around see if I can find anything. There are sites out tehre that make subtitles for movies, I really do not know if they are doing it for TV DVD's or not.. but even if they are... there is still the problem of integrating them into the DVD. This one is going to be tough, if not impossible.
