Actually, every question and every answer has a "report abuse" button below it. If we'd all get wise and report those nasty answers -or the nasty, abusive, and abrasive questions- we could all clean up this place faster than the jerks, trolls, and point-gamers can tear into it. That's far better for us all than trying to throw the insults back, and risking getting reported ourselves!

Some are trolls and some are just regular posters who enjoy ruffling feathers. Alot of people don't know the answers and have no real interest in taking time to find them in order to help the asker. People often forgot that behind these letters on the screen there are REAL people with real feelings.
Unfortunately, these forums are pretty much a reflection of our society overall. Many are probably as nice or mean in person as they are on these forums lol. I truly don't see a solution. If you find a solution for making these forums nicer then you've found the solution for doing the same in our world.

Various reasons. Some may just be brutally blunt and some are stupid and have no social skills. Some never have been taught respect so they don't know and some are cowards and the only time they can be anything else is online. Last but not least, some people are so foolish that it brings rude behavior out

I agree. I was asking for a childcare place open 24/7. not because i wanted to drop off kids and never go back but because me and hubby work same hours but different days off so the 3 days a week we are at work i need the place to be open. everything closes at 6pm and nothing open on weekends. the replyer to my ?? told me to put them in foster care since i needed 24/7. how rude was that!!

I am only rude to the people that deserve it, for example somone being rude about their team losing, i just give them my honest opinion, becaue they are not really asking a question, just stating their own opinions. Another one that gets me is these students that put their entire homework online to have people answer them instead of doing the work themselves. It is ok to ask a question but your entire, homework, come on now that's rediculous.

I think that the inherent anonymity of the internet inspires a more brutal type of honesty.
That brutality and cut to the chase aspect is both the venue's strength and its weakness.

I agree, but if that person asks a question that is deliberately insulting, and the goal is to insult and ridicule then they will get what's coming to them.

because they are rude and obnoxious ppl who only feel good about themselves by making others feel bad. you cannot change them as they are miserable and won't feel better until they humiliate or verbally attack others...you just have to ignore them and leave them to their sad little lives....
