It seems that some people are constantly trying to connect the war in Iraq with terrorism.

Bush seems to always mention terrorism and the war in the same breath. He seems to want us to think that prosecuting this war is equal to fighting terrorism.

And we're now often hearing that if we continue the with the war, that it will keep the terrorists over there, and they will be less likely to come to the U.S.

Critics of the Iraq war say that the war has "created 10,000 Bin Ladens"

So what's the truth? What, if any, is the connection between the war in Iraq and the War on Terror?

Honestly, at first I didn't buy into the whole "war on terrorism", thinking it just to be propaganda. Don't get me wrong, I want to fight terrorism (not personally, blood and guts aren't my forte), but I had the same concerns as you. I think an argument could be made that there is no connection, but the opposite is true as well. Is there absolutely direct threat? I can't say for sure, because I haven't been invited to any government conferences, but I would say No! I think the connection deals mostly with following the trail of money. The basis for offense on Iraq is that money from Hussein's government/people was supporting terrorist organizations. So there might be an indirect or minimally direct connection, but until all files and intelligence are provided (which I won't hold my breath for) there is just no way to know for certain.

There will always be "State sponsored Terrorism", However the United States, which I am a proud citizen, is just beginning to feel the effects of Terror. The peoples of Europe and Asia have been feeling this for years! Is there a connection, I don't know. Was there "State sponsored Terrorism" from Iraq? I suppose that answer has been given several times by the world in stating that Terrorists are being chased around Afghanistan and Iraq by militarize of the world.

There is no connection. Bush added the terrorism lie to the WMD lie in order to go to war. By doing so, the government actually succeeded in escalating the problem by creating a terrorist threat which previously did`nt exist. Bizarre and dangerous.
