LMBO, yeah that cat is smart and a weeee bit spoiled, but that's ok.
Have you tried clapping your hands really loud and saying "no kitty" firmly and loudly when she's doing wrong? It should startle her enough and she'll get the idea.
I do that with our cat when she's using the furniture as a scratching post or playing slip n slide down the hall when we all go to bed. She gets the point

Enjoy it! She's spoiled but in a good way. And be glad she wants attention, she likes you a lot! (Many cats don't want attention and would rather be left alone.) When she does something bad like smacking the keys on the keyboard I wouldn't spray water - you need to be sure not to get any on the keyboard too. Instead, say "No" or get her some toys like catnip filled mice or something. My cats enjoy playing with the toy mice, and the female Greta loves squishy toy balls.
I hope this helps and that you enjoy your cat, she sounds like a lot of fun.

oh what a cuuute cat you have!!
she is very smart and knows how to get you to spoil her doesn't she?
about the squirting with water... if your cat has always seen you squirt it, then your cat knows its only something that happens when you are around. the water trick works better if they don't see you doing the squirting because then they think the thing they jump on or go near is the one that squirts them. so the water bottle probably will never work for you.
the only thing you can do is keep pushing her away and give her a firm "no" when she tries to come near.... but I have a feeling she is already so spoiled she won't even listen to that... or is there room on your computer table to make a cozy place for her to lay on.. like my computer table has a shelf above the monitor and I keep a blanket there so she jumps up there to watch what I am doing when I am on the computer.

If you are open to the idea, maybe you should get another cat/kitten so she has a friend. Right now you are her primary source of entertainment. Being an intelligent little pest (affectionately) - yep, she's gonna focus on you! good luck!

Oh dear your cat must be related to my poor past Melissa. I now have 2 cats who basically lie around like lumps. All I can tell you is you really don't know how lucky you are in a lot of ways. Right now I have one cat, who quacks like a duck, sleeping under a tray table in bed with me and I can't take the tray away. The other one, who at least comes to her name, does like to be petted sometime, but usually only when my husband and I are lying down together. Fun. I would love to have a cat who wanted attention. Anyway, you should try and get her some of her own toys and toss them to her, load them with catnip and get her totally stoned while you are trying to work at something. It works for humans, and it works for cats. I know with Melissa I had to find ways to close my closet doors so she couldn't get into them. It frustrated her, but she kept trying, so it kept her busy for awhile. You can also try putting her in another room when you are on the computer so she doesn't play with the keys. Also, loud noises all of a sudden will scare all of a sudden and work at the beginning. That too will pass, but, you have a spoiled cat, and it's your fault, not that I'm blaming you, I would do it too, and certainly have, and would again if I could, so, unfortunately, we have to live with our children. They are our children, but they don't talk and we can't send them to obidence school like you can with a dog. Of course, you can do one of the other things we try, just keep feeding her, that will keep her busy for awhile, but you have to be careful that she doesn't get tooooo fat and sick.
I feel for you, I reallly do.
Oh yes, last resort, get her a playmate.

She sounds a lot like my cat. She opens my door when I'm getting changed, sits infront of the computer screen and scratches at doors! Keep on going with the water bottle or blow on their face.and they seem to learn quicky what is acceptable and what's not!

Lucky you!!! Not every cat wants a human "friend". My advice is to love this cat like a child, give it lots and lots of attention, teach it to communicate with you, and when she is annoying you by distracting you just give up and play with her for 15 minutes solid. If all else fails, try to get another cat for her to buddy around with. Good luck. (I'd take her in a heartbeat!!)

A simple and easy way I keep my cats entertained is to tie a piece of paper onto the end of a piece of elastic, then hang the elastic in a doorway. The paper hangs in the doorway and is very tempting for my cats to jump at and catch. The elastic means it bounces around and is harder to catch.
Also to keep my cats off places, like the kitchen bench, I blew up a load of balloons and put them there, when they jumped up the balloons popped and scared them away, they don't jump up anymore.

You don't own the cat, the cat owns you. Did you try to teach it to use the toilet? Seriously, there's a lot of tricks that can be taught to cats.
Using a toilet is just one of them.
Don't worry, your cat is just looking for attention from you.....she's DEMANDING IT from you, she's your BOSS !

I had a black cat named Lizard, (because, long ago, when the "Taco Bell" dog would say ; "Here, lizard, lizard, lizard", she'd run to the TV) People would laugh out loud because I would talk to her, and she would answer me. Once, She got up to her bowl, and looked at me and meowed. I said, "What?"
She got down, and went over to the sink, looked at the cupboard, and meowed. I opened the cupboard and said, "What?!"
She scratched at the bag of meow mix, which was not the kind in her bowl. I said, "You want that kind, do ya?"
She meowed, and walked back to her bowl. I scooped some of it out, and gave it to her. She took a bite, then looked at me and meowed.
I said, "You're welcome."
