It is quite possible that you are sleeping with your mouth open. If you are drinking water and your mouth is still dry, you could have one of the folliwng things going on with you.
1. Medication - some medications will dry out your mouth.
2. Alcohol - even if you are drinking water, alcohol will still dehydrate you. Cut down on the alcohol if you are drinking a lot of it.
3. Sinus issues - congestion will cause you to breathe through your mouth, thus causing your mouth to dry out.
4. Atmosphere - it is possible that the air is too dry at your house. Try using a humidifier. Or if it's cold where you live, try not to turn the heat up too high.
I hope this info helps!

I have the same problem. If I sleep with my mouth open my mouth will be SO dry my tongue will be turning white. This started happening when I had to sleep with a mouth guard.
If you can't make it through the night without keeping your mouth closed then keep a glass of water on your bedside table. That's what I do.
Good luck!

Are you havng sinus problems? When mine act up, I tend to breathe through my mouth while I sleep, and wake up to this awful dry mouth. Feels like it's gonna crack if I don't drink water the second I wake up.
That or I'd say maybe you are a little dehydrated, but you say you drink lots of water so maybe not.

Your saliva works all day to keep your mouth moist. But oxygen dries it out. You probably just sleep with your mouth open. Just take that drink of water in the mornings and you'll be fine.
You've also probably swallowed a couple spiders in your sleep without realizing.

Perhaps you are breathing through your mouth at night instead of your nose, or if the air is very dry because of the cold weather and running the heat at night, low humidity can cause it. Perhaps running a cool humidifier at night would give you some relief.

While breathing through your mouth due to sinuses or habit, in addition to humidity level of your house is low. You may want to consider other possibilities, such as diabetes, to much salt in diet, smoking to much, drinking to much alcohol. Also this could be side effects to medication. There are so many possibilities and most are easily correct others may need attention by your doctor. Good luck.

that is completly normal. the amount of water you drink will not make a difference. let me guess, your mouth is dry but your pillow is wet? yeah that is because when you fall asleep you breath through your mouth and you slobber everywhere. so the point is , that your swallowing all of your saliva, and drooling at the same time. and your mouth is white because its dry saliva. its normal, it happens to the best of us.

If you started a new medication recently, it could be caused by that and should only be temporary. If it has been going on for a while, mention it to your doctor the next time you are in (unless it gets worse then call for an appointment). In the meantime, get a tongue scraper and spray from your dentist.

you need to increase the water in your diet....drink, drink, and drink to your health....it is so vital that you drink at least 56 ozs of water daily.........and i mean water! dry mouth leads to carries and cavaties, it leads to foul breath, and it indictes that your whole body is probably getting dehydrated....suck on mints, chew sugarless gum.....drink, drink , and drink more, for your health...your wholesome health requires you to drink more water.
