What makes people unique from others?

Their experiences in life. No one has the exact same experiences and experiences are what shape how we act and sometimes what we believe, making each person unique from the next.

Well the problem with most people (if not all) is that we all think we are unique but in fact when you stand back and look you will see that most of us are pretyt much the same...For example, the Neilson ratings (tv ratings for tv shows) are based on a population of 32 people..Those 32 people as they watch tv reflect what the rest of the U.S. population are watching...And amazingly they are very accurate because when you go the next morning and here poeple talking they will usually be the top shows.

We all buy our iPods...etc...For society its about acceptance and comforming is part of that...Uniqueness is a realm that strays away to an extent from the norm and thus away from acceptance. Interestingly then i think then for most people they confuse unqiueness with subtle tweaks on society acceptance...for example, getting a "pink" ipod is what they would consider unqiue when in fact its still be part of the pack.

I think uniqueness lies in the realm of non-acceptance and non-comformity...its the people who stray from the norm and in ways aren't accepted and shunned by society...Its those people who are unique because they dare to break out of the box and be "their true selves". It's like Apple Inc. (the makers of macs and iPods)...Apple is unique....it is Apple vs the World...Apple looks at what the world is doing and does things different....their famouse marketing tag line is: "Think Different!". Their newest product is the iPhone and is very unique...no other phone is like it...it isnt a new color..its a unqiue way of interacting.

Do i think i am unique? No...i am just another drone, eating tv dinner and wondering who is cheating on who on Desparate Housewife each week, so god help that person who disturbs me during my tv time because Neilson needs me.

It can be different for different people (talent,genius ness can be few, out-of-the box ideas,thinking differently,passion etc are the things which make a person unique)

A simple excercise as given below can help in understanding for any individual
a)Write down what makes you feel special/extraordinaray
b) Note 4-5 things whing make you feel ordinary.
Generally it has been observed that key to feeling special lies with external recognition.

We bleed the same colour, we all have heads, arms and legs... well most of us... This is what makes us equals...

We don't all grow up in the same house, with the same family or friends or same coloured skin... We don't go through the same things at the same time... This is what makes us different...

We are unique, because of our past, what we learnt, what we gain and with it all, what we felt... This is what makes us who we are today, not what we were or will be, but just who we are.

If we ever meet at a different time or at a different place, would we ever be the same people?

Appreciate life and be grateful for all the people you've met, whether it's good or bad, they each made a difference in your life and with all that, it makes you who you are today. The unique you.

I reckon people are unique from others because of genetics, upbringing, schooling, culture, outside influences while they grow up. I don't have any special or outstanding talents/achievements, I fit within the curve of normality and I'm quite content with that.

Your fingerprint and your iris structure(colored part of your eye) is the only one of its kind. Though its whats on the inside that differs you from every person whos ever stepped foot on this earth. People are unique just by being themselves, whether its acting as someone else, its their version of doing so, or just plain being themselves. everything from hair to your toes,,and all points inbetween!!you are you ! who you are makes you special, who i am makes me special,,we are all special,,some good ,,some bad ,,but just being you, makes you unique!! if you try being like some one else,then you are no longer unique, then you are like a clone of somebody else!!you are you ,so stay true to just being who you are! dont try looking like cher or who ever as you wont be unique anymore!!

yoo neekness or uniquities is it because you have differences to others or that you are just the one of a kind.... and can you really be unique from others.... or is it a compairison to similarities.... can people be unique.... are we not all of the same mind and soul...... all extentions of the greater being...... in the awareness of your inner mind you can have the enlighenment to understand that all things are relative..... and that in some place in time all have been in that place and time freeing our uniquality allowing all to share in the uniquity of ourselves..... so we are yoo neek from others.... but not in the sense that yoo neek we are..... and that is why people are unique from others...... each one of us is yoo neek..... and only if yoo neek you are : D

ur unique when u be urself...people tend to pretend to be someone they're not when they're around a crowd...when ur urself, no one can be like u and thats what makes a person unique...
