But not yet ready to commit to marriage?

Are you real? Are you just looking for some petting? Why do you think boys and girls, men and women date? Naturally they are petting, kissing, licking and doing it all because that what the male and female do to each other. Do you expect to have a a person just hang around you for no reason.

Nope...especially since it'll lead you past that. Mt 5:28- 'But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already commited adultery with her in his heart.' Christians must either give themselves totally, in marriage, or not at all, because anything physical outside of marriage is just using a girl, it isn't loving her.

That question has the wrong motive and perspective for a Christian to have. Instead of asking "How far can we go before it is a sin" a Christian couple who love each other and have yet to get married should be asking "What can we do to remain sexually pure before our union is sanctioned by God in the presence of witnesses?".

Love wants what is best for the object of that love. Lust wants to be satisfied with no regard for the object of it's desire.

If you are truly worried about it. Speak to your pastor on the matter. He would be more inclined to give you the answer according to his view of the scriptures. I personally believe you must choose the appropriate action for yourself and your partner.
Heavy petting is a form of sexual expression. I don't believe it to be good or bad given the context. But from a Christian stand point I do believe they are pretty specific on this issue.
I think you already know the answer and probably don't want to stop because it feels good. Which in most situations...no one would want to stop. Decide for yourself and take responsibility for your actions either way. The choice is yours and your partner alone.

This is a question for you and your partner only.

This is not a question to ask random people on the inernet. The sexual life you share belongs to the two of you, it is not an opportunity to invite various strangers to lay their neuroses on you.

Sit down with your partner and ask her or him what she/he feels okay with, and talk about what you feel okay with. Be honest with each other. Make your own love, not someone elses. It's called intimacy.

Sorry if that sounded a bit harsh, but.... sheeesh!

If you both agree and it feels right to you. If uncomfortable then you are not ready.
Heavy petting can lead to more so be careful, and aware of the temptation you are playing with.
I would say yes, but I know you are more serious about it then me. Follow your comfortable levels and if it becomes too uncomfortable go back to light kissing.

You're either married or you're not. If you're not, you are NOT entitled to touch her, neither is she entitled to touch you.

You're asking whether you can beat a traffic light?

No not at all.

Ephesians 5:3

"there must not even be a hint of sexual immorality amoung you."

As Christians, you need to be "above reproach". If you aren't married, you shouldn't be petting.
