It sounds like distemper. Even though you may have vaccinated him, he could have already been exposed. Contrary to belief, this is NOT an automatic death sentence for dogs. The most important thing right now is to get him to a vet and started on antibiotics as soon as possible. I just nursed a three month old puppy through distemper. The key is arresting the respiratory symptoms early with antibiotics and cough syrup (Robitussin - you vet can tell you how much depending on his weight.) If you can do that he has a good chance of not going on to the nervous symptom phase. Try to nurse him through the respiratory phase. If he does progress to the nervous system phase(seizures, loss of motor skills, etc.), there is minimal chance of his making it and it is very painful, so it is kinder to put him to sleep if that happens. Good luck!

All dogs do this it is not that big of a deal. He may have licked fur and it is in his throat. If the dog is acting as normal {except for what you described} don't worry about it. If he becomes lethargic and is not interested in anything like playing, food etc take him to the vet. the "fomish" stuff can be stomach juices or it may be part of something he ate. The bad breath is a thing dogs have. I just give my dogs a mint or a dogbone dog biscuit.

He's probably eaten something that disagreed with his stomach, or he;s possibly allergic to. I would call your vet and get in to see him, but in the mean time take away his food and water for 12 hours to let his stomach settle...then find a bland dog food diet to feed him for a few days. Or you can feed him boiled chicken and rice...thats a very bland food. You want to give him something bland cause most regular dog foods are pretty rich and cold upset the stomach even more. After the 12 hour fast, give him a small amount of water to drink and wait an hour...if he doesn't throw that up, then give him about half of the food portion you would normally give, but not his normal food...give him the bland diet, and another small amount of water. If he keeps that down then give him his normal amount of bland food and water for 2 days...then slowly move him back to his regular food by giving half bland diet, and half regular diet. If you just move him back to his regular diet he may vomit, or get diarrhea. This is just a suggestion, so I would defintely call your vet and tell him whats going on..but you can do this until you get in to see your vet.

My first impression is that he needs to be de-wormed...that is certainly the common symptoms. Secondly, it could be his anal sacs impacted or infected. check his little bum, to make sure it doesn't appear swollen or red and sore...anal sacs cause sore throats, and the distress that you mentioned. yes, even though they're are at the other end of the dog! lol
