I think a lot of people have forgotten why the pilgrims came to America in the first place and why the Constitution speaks definitely about freedom to worship or not worship as we please.
Somehow over the past few years we've forgotten about personal freedoms....I believe that's sad and dangerous.
I agree 100% with your question & statement.

Someone who is perfect at the moment Someone who will be imperfect the second later Sometimes you dont have to be perfect to throw the first stone, If everyone waited to be perfect to be the first one Then no one will make the action required to the situation Just gotta be at the right place and the right time If you dont cast the stone thinking what others might think then you are trying to be perfect, and when you try to be perfect you are imperfect and when you are imperfect then you try to be perfect again which is imperfect again LOL ha ha ha ha, see how wisdom and intellect could contradict itself ? Be the goddess of the moment Just Be, thats the only way all this works you know, there is no one who is right all the time, there can only be someone who is right at one time, make that one time everytime and you will know what I mean. Do I have to be perfect to tell you this ? If i was thinking that way then could this information be relayed to your ? In another word, if you try to be perfect by showing yourself as imperfect simply because everyone says it then you are only cheating your own self. You dont have to be perfect or imperfect to do the right thing. And doing the right thing is `casting the first stone when its the very thing you should do when its called upon I know im going against so many people`s ideas and opinion here, but take your time and think about what i have written, I am not looking for any thumbs up nor best answers. I am not talking about being perfect or judging someone here I am talking about the word action and reaction

What is the "golden rule" I don't recall that term in the Bible. I recall Jesus telling us to spread the word and the truth and the truth sometimes hurts.
One of the things Jesus said, for example, is that no one should set aside their spouse except for adultery. How does one justify no fault divorce among those "claiming" to be Christians. Are Christians allowed to re-write the "golden rules" to suit their fancies. Shall we take a red pencil to the Bible and remove all the things we don't like and want to do in life.
If we are NOT to minister, which you seem to be implying, then what are we to do.
What are you advocating. That we should let child molesters, fornicators, divorcees, people who have sex with animals be priest and ministers and tell others how to behave as the Bible and Jesus says.
Maybe only Saints should be allowed to minister and all others just be meek.
I'm sure the Atheists here would love that one, for there'd be no one ministering!
They know it, I know it and you know it!
Your question is actually bashing everyone here.
Most people here know the rules that we all accept in this forum (which don't necessarily follow the Rules as Yahoo views them), accept them implicitly and then go about our business.
I'll be the first to admit, well, I'll give people the benefit of a break, that 95% of the Christians in the world are not doing things in the way of Jesus, but that comment is bashing.
I'm passing a judgement based upon observations and my view of the "golden rule."
Jesus told us what to do and few people do it.
Atheists here, rightfully and in their own way they are trying to make us better Christians by telling us we are spitting in Jesus face, yet claim to embrace him, point out what we aren't doing right. They seem to know the rules of Jesus better than we do.
They see us get divorced for no good reason other than we are fed up in the marriage and they ask how we equate that with what Jesus says.
Then we practise slip and slide rhetoric.
They rightfully point out if we do something as simple as get divorced, that we might have sinned and might be as condemed to hell now as we tell them they are.
And you, they might be right!
We believe in Jesus, but we don't believe in his words and teachings.
Technically you are right. Christians shouldn't even be posting in this forum, reading it, sure.
Any question you have can be answered outside of this forum.
Any answers you seek are already here and don't need you input, you just search. You don't even need to do that. In any given moment, for example, you'll find out why someone is an Atheist. It's posted here fresh every few pages.
What this forum is, which no one seems to understand, is an evangelical jousting section. This is Meet The Press. This is Jerry Springer. This is the Howard Stern Show. This is talk radio.
It is the ultimate exercise in freedom of speech and freedom of expression, except when the great God Yahoo slaps us down for getting too R or X rated.
Did you know you can't paste Bible quotes here in their entirity. The built-in censor puts **** over many words found in the Bible. The Bible, it appears, is X rated.
How does that grab you. Yahoo censors the Bible. The Bible uses "locker room talk" according to Yahoo standards.
If Yahoo ran the world you'd have to be over 18 to purchase a Bible in a store.
See, I'm slinging mud on Yahoo.
I'm bashing them.
I'm bashing them because they are anti-Bible.
They must be anti-Bible for replacing words with ****. Either that or the Bible must be a filthy book.
I'm surprised the Atheists never hit us with that one!

I certainly agree that everyone should have the right to be whatever religion they want. God's plan is that man have free will. Faith cannot be forced, period.
I am a Christian, and I want to quote something Ghandi once said towards Christians. "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

There are many self-appointed "Christians" who prefer to interpret the Bible to justify their judgmental, hateful ways. It's easier to hedge and rethink the Scriptures to best support your own biases and shortcomings than actually adhere to the saintliness -- and tolerance -- of Christ. Today's fundamentalists would like to think of Jesus as an abortion-clinic bombing, gay-bashing, gun-toting nutjob than an accepting, loving, peaceful individual.

They also have a Constitutional right to free speech, and not all people live by or care what the golden rule is.

We need to be polite to one another for sure, but it is also good and enjoyable to debate for what we believe. Part of believing is knowing why you believe. What do you think?
