Just curious. Why does the bible say that we should wait until marriage? Marriage does not determine whether 2 people will be together for life or not, the couple determines that. So if two people are deeply in love, why can't they make love?

Awesome that's what I like to hear. I mean sex is a natural thing. When 2 people are in deep love, it's a higher degree of intimacy. Why must religion take that away from us? Why?

The Bible says that we should wait until marriage because marriage is vowing to be with someone and no one else for the rest of your life. It is making a commitment to spend your life with only one person. And you are making this commitment in front of God and people. It is also a legal commitment. Sex is supposed to be reserved for that one person because that is the closest you can be to someone; you are actually joined, and before you make that physical connection, you should make the spiritual connection through marriage.

Sex is not love.
Do you desert your child. Do you divorce them.
If you're so in love why don't you just get married!
What's a matter, afraid you might "fall out of love" afraid of the commitement afraid of the obligations.
Sex is a pasttime, like watching TV.
Sex is a drug. It makes you feel good.
You want to know the really, really, really odd thing. Marriage among heterosexuals is becoming passe, while to homosexuals it has become an important issue. Homosexuals seem to value the state of marriage far more than heteros do for some reason.
That's a paradox.
Why is marriage so important and significant to the gay community and now not significant at all to the straight community.
Gays seem to want the commiment and obligations (although, to be frank, let's how they feel after they get a taste of divorce bills from courts and lawyers).
Gays want the right to say "keep them on life support" to the doctors. Gay want the inheritance rights. They want the family insurance rates. They want the tax deduction.
Heteros just want the sex.
Strange world we live in. Hope the significant other in your life understands your just in it for the sex, not the long run.
Sex, in the religious world (and most religion only approve of sex inside of marriage) is the REWARD the PERK the RIGHT for making the stand and commitement.
It is what you get for saying YOU are the ONE and ONLY and I will stand by you forever.

The bible also says that it's ok to stone your children. That may have worked back then but things change.
Sex is natural and we are meant to have children in our teens but we live longer so we prolong that urge. I believe it is a hard decision but doing what God wants is more important then what you want.
However, I believe that you should love your partner and (this isn't what God believes) but I do (sorta') believe it is ok if the couple loves each other to "explore" what comes natural.
I do not believe that porn or any type of contraception is ok. I believe in natural family planning.

Just curious -- where does it say this in the Bible? I don't think I have ever seen it.
I have seen the part of the Bible where Abraham has sex with his slave and then sends her out into the desert with her bastard son. Since he is one of the great holy men -- it doesn't sound like marriage was too important.

If you believe in Jesus and in the Bible, and have a relationship with Him, then you will get the strength to wait, and will experience that it is for your best.
a book explaining on the subject:

BTW, if you are not a Christian, then don't worry about it, worry about knowing Jesus. I think only the Holy Spirits can give you the strength to wait.

The bible doesn't work unless there is sin and the more sin there is the better it works, and as a direct consequence of this system every thing that feels good has been labeled a sin.

Because the bible supports you not being able to do anything fun at all. You're supposed to live a miserable life in the hopes that your death will be good.
