Botox is indicated for hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) and is covered by most insurance plans. The injections last 3-6 months. You also have the option of having the sweat glands in your underarms removed (also covered by insurance). I am surprised your doctors have not mentioned either of those. You should be able to get botox as you are over 12. Call around to different dermatologists and make sure they treat or specialize in treating hyperhydrosis before you go. Specifically mention hyperhydrosis and either one of these treatment options.

Wow, I'm sorry. That sounds awful. Secret and Mitchum don't work for me either, but Certain Dri has always done the trick. If it's not working for you, I'm kind of at a loss.

Whether you can get the botox treatments depends on a lot of different factors. I think you're going to need to get your parents' permission. That's because they're in charge of you and because they may be the ones who have to pay for it. I don't know if insurance would cover this because they may consider it "cosmetic." The people you need to be talking to the most about this stuff are your parents and your doctor. They're the only ones who can really answer all your questions. If you exhaust all other options, I think you can have your sweat glands surgically removed or ask about a drug called Ditropan. Good luck though!

I don't know any more than a doctor would know. Sometimes powder helps, or baking soda. Anyway. With the botox...I'd be nervous. Your underarm is the thinnest skin on your body, under which is one of your major arteries. I personally wouldn't stick it with a needle. If your lucky, maybe it's just a weird hormonal thing you'll grow out of when you're done puberty. Some kids get zits, you get sweat. It makes sense too since underarm sweating and body odor is something that starts during puberty and you are right at that time in your life. At least it's easier to hide sweat. If you get zits too, I'm sorry.

Unfortunately if the Dr's aren't helping you, You may want to see a different Dr.

You may outgrown it. My sister sweats alot, no matter what she does. You probably sweat even more because you are anxious about sweating. Maybe seeing a shrink would help, because the anxiety is probably making the problem worse.

Just an idea. I wouldn't recommend botox though.

I'm sorry you have such a horrid problem, but you may just have to accept that is how your body was made, and I wish you luck.

wow is it really that bad? well maybe if you put baby powder on and then deodorant then it might help have you tried men's deodorant that's what i used when i played sports it works way better than woman's but if not I'm sorry but hmm... i say just try and get 100% cotton type of shirts if you want bright clothes because that would absorb sweat the most....also just try and change shirts or also you should try to put two shirts on so you don't sweat through the shirt on top. I'm just thinking of stuff on top of my head that's all i got though well hope i helped or you get better answerer's from someone else good luck with that honey

Well, you can certainly look into Botox...I have heard it's being used for overactive sweating....

I once heard that if you put your deodorant on at night (after you've showered) and then reapply in the morning it helps...something with hormones your body produces while you're sleeping or something like that.

i do not imagine that all of us's underarm sweat smells effective. I also do not imagine that the smell of sweat is what determines your sexuality. even if if it did, why are you worried about being gay. there is no longer something incorrect with it.

Well if products such as medications and deodorants/antiperperans aren't working then may I suggest underarm shields ? they are like little pads you put on your shirt and it absorbs your sweat I haven't used them and I perspire a lot too but I think it sounds good you can type in "Underarm Shields" on google and you can order them online . I'm hoping to order them . Tell me if they work if you order them hope i helped! Oh yeah , certain dri didn't work for me either and I'm the same age as you . Trust me your not alone .

I have the same problem. It's not as bad in the winter, with cooler weather. But in the summer, nothing can stop my sweating. I have better luck using a men's deodorant. Just try to find an unscented kind.
