Fat globules are separated into smaller fat droplets by bile salts - these bile salts are present in the bile produced by the liver.

The bile salts act like a detergent and coat the little droplets of fat, preventing it from sticking together in large globules, but they are not capable of actually breaking down fat. Fat is broken down in the small intestine by an enzyme called 'pancreatic lipase' - the purpose of separating it into smaller droplets rather than big globules is to increase the exposure (surface area) of the fat to the pancreatic lipase enzyme, so it can be broken down more quickly.
Hope that helps :)

PS - 'Botany' is the study of plants - this question would have been better placed in the 'biology' category - and you think take home tests are stupid?! Heck... sounds better to me than good old 3hr closed-book exams, lol. Actually take-home tests probably have an advantage, I think you learn more when you have to look stuff up youself.

Don't get confuse. There is no large and small fat globules. Enzymatic breakdown refers to the bond break.

I dont think he is unhappy. If a persons spouse has got such a great sense of humor, they can be happy as ever, but still keep fit with all of the laughing. That is why he is not fat. You keep him laughing all of the time. =)

Sorry, this teacher knows, but thinks you should answer your own test questions.
