what suits your needs?
The US Marine corp has a limited budget and senior career planning can be challenging if you are looking to be a lifer.
The Army is more of an industrial scale operation. Marines are in tighter, more maneuverable and responsive units that are highly deployable at all times. Marines have the capacity to take initiative on someone else's soil or move to intercept in actions of interdiction. The Marine will get around much more than the soldier and see many fascinating places in the world if you look forward to travel. However, the USMC will not guarantee a contract of training for an MOS like the army will. The Marine's will take your requests into consideration and MOST LIKELY send you to tech school. Whereas the army has legally binding contracts they serve to at least attending a tech school somewhere before placing you into a slot reserved for your MOS title and then doing whatever they want or need of you from there.

Depends on what you want. You want better duty locations (like Europe), better facilities, more money for college, and slightly faster promotions, then go Army. You want a bad*ss looking uniform and to be able to say you are a Marine, and gone through the hardest boot camp available, then be a Marine. Just think about what you really want, do some research, talk to recruiters from both services, and then accept and deal with whatever you decide. I recommend the Army, I did 4 in the Marines first, and can tell you I believe and have experienced what I wrote above.

Depends on what you want. If you want to serve your country either one is a fine choice, you need to look into it. If you are planning to enlist I would try to find a recruiter to talk to but keep in mind they have goals they set just like cops with summonses. Read through your contract for anything you don't like or didn't agree upon. However if you want to get a college degree, I would say to become an Officer. Go to http://www.ArmyOCS.com for USA and to http://www.MarineOCS.com for USMC. In my opinion the only downfall of the Army is they don't get to call themselves Marines.

OORAH!! Semper Fi!

Also, check out the Navy, they have many fine programs too. As for quality of life, I am hearing USAF is the way to go.

I don't know how one could be better than the other, I mean when you think about it both the Army and the Marines are fighting for the same thing!

Combat skills depend on terrain. Marine for beach landing, open terrain. Army for jungle, house-to-house, hit-and-run tactics. But the Marines are famous for being unpoliticized, loyal to constitution and simple as gleaned in their motto "Kill, Kill, Kill."
This unbending culture of the Marines brought the notion to "Tell that to the marines" if one's credibility is questioned.

I'm sure both the Army and the Marines have their pluses and minuses.
