I have tried brushing them extra good- and we always have brushed his teeth every day, but the other day he just had some on his front tooth. Is there any way to get it off?

It probably isn't plaque.Does the toothpaste you use have flouride in it or does he take flouride supplements? These can cause the white spots on his teeth, and as far as I know it won't come off.At least they are baby teeth, they aren't permanent.
If that is the case get him non flouride tooth and gum cleanser,it's in the baby aisle of any store.

Call the Dentist!! Its probably not plaque. Plaque takes a while to build up.

It could be that a layer of enamel has come off. It happened to my 2 year old and now her front tooth has a small discoloured area. I went to the dentist and they told me as long as it's not soft if you touch it, it will be ok.

Plaque comes off easy.

All you need to do is brush it off.
