The pimple on my hip was a large whitehead that hit right at my beltline - it hurt like hell, so I popped it to help it go away. It was exactly like every other normal pimple I'd ever had anywhere else, and the inflammation went down almost immediately. I disinfected it, covered it, and it seemed to mostly go away. (The redness stayed, but I didn't check it every day - most pimples leave a red mark on me for 3-4 weeks, so this was nothing new.) Today I realized it was back so I went to pop it again, but instead of finding pus inside, I found a hard, white interior that I couldn't get out (I didn't try very hard, it started to feel a bit like surgery & I immediately backed off). It looks nothing like any kind of rash otherwise, or an infection, parasite, etc. I am fair skinned and have gotten some sun in the past, but never on this area of my body (I stay covered on my torso 100% of the time), so skin cancer in that area seems strange. What else might this be?

It probably wasn't a simple pimple (no pun intended) but was actually what is called a boil and that hard piece that you are feeling and seeing is the head of the boil, or in other words it is the core of the "pimple". The boil will remain and more than likely flare up again until this pops out. Try sitting in a hot bath and try popping it again as soon as you get out of the bath. If this does not work, whenever it flares up again, go to the doctor and he/she will probably lance it so it will have an easier path to come out of the body.

Its probably just a whitehead still. Sometimes they develop hard white interiors. Keep the area clean. (2x a day at least)

Keep an eye on the area, but don't fret, I'm sure its not cancer. Give it a week or so to clear up, and make a Dr appointment if you are still concerned. (after 1-2 weeks)
