I use the 18 inch clip ins. I section my hair where I want to put the extensions. Back comb (rat) the spots where the clips go. Spray the ratted spots with a very strong hair spray like Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine. Put in clips and secure. Style your hair and then finish with a finishing spray. They last all day that way with out slipping.

Take them out at night and gently comb out the rats.

Depends what sort of hair extensions you're talking about.

Professionally done hair extensions take a matter of 2 days for a full head. They are put it with a matter of taking fine sections of hair, plaiting for a little, using the bonding serum, and then have a heat gun applied to them to seal it off.

If you're talking about clip in ones. You section your hair, clip them in, and then blend with your real hair.
Style as usual.

Anything other than the clip in ones you need a professional. They itch and hurt though. I love the clip in ones, all you do is section your hair, clip them in and style! I have them on in my profile pic.
