I know that I let it rip about 200-400 times per day. Mostly non-pungent ones, but about 50-75 of those per day is a butt-***-nasty, smelly, chilli bean, pungent, stagnant, rotten, festering, fermented fart.

I read this article on www.365wellst.com and they claimed on avergae a person is supppossed to fart 15 to 17 times a day. Also to burp about that much too. The excess air in your blood needs to be released and it comes thru your mouth or butt.

Depends on your diet, if I eat a couple bowls of chilli, then I fart non-stop for like 2 days.

hahaha. what a great question....you should fart as much as you want/need to. some people fart a lot, some a little, it depends on what you eat, some foods will make you fart more than others....

flagellation - loosing gas is just small particles of a solid accelerating out of the body whether rectally or as a belch or sneeze. You are what you eat and ingest - suggest you think of other bodily functions - Perhaps visit a morgue as those who are decease also loose gases.

I heard it was 14 times a day on average.........I never counted. I do know that it all depends on the food you eat and the amount of exercise you do.

its common to fart more times than that especially if you eat (just ate) spicy food or beans. but if it becomes an everyday occurence, please consult your physician.
it could mean something nasty is on your intestine that's causing the gas to build up. eat fibrous food to help clean it.
