I just wanted to ask if this was normal. I'd always thought sex to be more like in high-school/college and I couldnt believe people would do that in middle school.

Now days, it seems like people are having sex at an earlier age.
Because, biologically, they can. Are they mature enough, no.
There's no harm in dating, but sex should wait until later. At what age? It really depends on the person. There's a lot of immature adults having sex and wondering "Where did that baby come from..."
I hope that you'll wait until you're older and more mature. And don't do "it" just because your friends are and certainly not because your boyfriend is pressuring you.

No, It's not normal to be having sex in 8th grade, and yes it is a little too early to be doing it. Please, Wait till you get in high school well actually wait till you find that perfect guy that you know when the time is right and that doesn't mean fall for some guy then a month or two later do it. Take your time. This is your first time and it should be special to you. I wish i could say the same about myself but thats another story.

I'd say that's way to early. You can tell this friend of yours that if she wants to contract an std while in the eigth grade then that's her problem, but you don't feel like you need to be pressured into it.

This is not normal and is extremely dangerous behavior. It is very possible that your friend was abused or neglected by her parents. Now she is looking for intimate contact and love from someone else, anyone else. If more people are doing this than there is something wrong with what's being taught around there. This is not good at all.
It's probably too late to stop you friend from hurting herself from a sexual relationship but you can still try to convince her to use protection.

those kids are stupid because they have bad parents who don't discipline them etc and take care of them
u r a very smart girl...and are right absolutely right
now...in my opinion, high school is too early to start too with the risks of stds and pregnancy which can literally destroy ones' life
a couple other girls in ur grade had sex
the rest didn't
5% out of 100% is abnormal...
it is abnormal at ur age to have sex(thnk god!)

Sometimes kids your age want to grow up too fast and they think having sex makes them mature. It doesn't. It just opens up a whole can or worms. Just because other kids do it, it doesn't mean you have to and you shouldn't. You are right, it's not right for children to have sex and you stick to your own beliefs and save yourself for later--much later, like when you get married. That's not an old fashioned concept. It's the way to go.

I think that this is not normal.
Here is the cause:
Way the media and pop culture place too munch emphasis on
sex. It does not surprise me. This is a moral fiber issue as a society.

Sadly it is normal now, but you should save your virginity for as long as possible. There are many irls I know that are in 7th grade with babies already. Basically sex is something you want to save and your friend should have saved it. PS. Keep yours as long as possible!!!!

yeah some girls are just very dumb, and sick.
the first time i heard a girl in my school had sex was in 6th grade. i mean WOW....she came to school the next day making a scene and crying...the guy was a dick too.hmmhmm its all just sad
