It can be a declaration of faith, but more often, I think it is just an expression, one that some Christians consider taking His name in vain.

Everybody has their own way of thinking and following things, For some it may just be like another word but for me it is definitely a faith and do really think of The Almighty, The Most Beneficient and The Most Merciful God.

I was always taught that using His name as an "exclamation" is actually taking His name in vain, and we shouldn't do it.

"Oh God, you've got to be joking". There is nothing there to praise His name, so it is like swearing. (thinking about it, that seems right, it seems like a milder way of saying God ----)

Oh God in Heaven, how I love You!- that is an exclamation of faith, and is ok
