someone answered my question in a way that implied it is my way of name-calling, but i think not. anyway, i'm so thankful that there are some people intelligent enough to see my point. calling bible-fundies "Biblians" is just for the purpose of classifying them so that when people are referring to them, people don't have to use the generic term "christians" because it confuses everyone.

it's just an educated classification, that's all.

who thinks that the term "Biblian" is derogatory, can you please explain why?

Since Biblian isn't really a religon (or an English word), how can anyone determine if it is derogatory. I think it is all in the *intent*. You may not have intended it to be derogatory, but it was perceived as such by the Christians. They didn't give their religion the name it bears, they follow Jesus Christ, and it was offensive to them that you would want to take that name and replace it with your own. That's just my opinion.

I think the term is rather... odd. It could be construed as an insult and compliment, depending on how one uses it. I think that if you choose to continue using this word that you invented, just be careful, OK? I think you may end up offending people that you don't mean to. Just my 2 cents.

I see where you are coming from and I personally found it amusing. But I still see where you are coming from.

Good answer tweenthelines. And at the end of all that you said was so good you became just as low when you said "Again: Jesus knows your heart with regards to this question you have posed. He loves you anyway. " You know that is just a little snide remakre that christians make at the end of conversations just to get that last little hit in. And with tact. You guys always get that last little part in because you know that it can tend to bother us in heated discussions. So you put out a great point and then just lost all my respect with that last little part.

I wouldn't say your made up term is educated.

I'm sorry you're confused about Christianity

Maybe you should study a little more about the subject instead of coming up with goofy made up words?

I suppose that since you are wanting to "classify" those people so that they will stand out, the term "Biblian" could be considered derogatory.

you are really having fun with this one aren't you? The fact that you keep re-phrasing the same question over and over again, when you have been given very sound and reasonable answers which afford you much wiggle room (I might add) is proof enough that your intentions are not honorable.

Let me repeat myself since you are clearly comfortable with repeating...

The un-believer (You-as you seem to have represented yourself) is far more comfortable with a term that seemingly omits the Holy name of Jesus Christ as He is Light, and darkness (the Un-believer) hates the Light. Hence your very self-proclaimed cleverness while creating the new term, "Biblian."

The irony of your cleverness is that you are still professing the Name of Christ (As He has many) since the Bible tells us that Jesus is the WORD (Which is the Bible).

We being CHRISTians have chosen to follow CHRIST who actually is the WORD and who was with God in the beginning, hence John 1:1 which states;

"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word (Which is Jesus Christ) was God."

Since the WORD (The Bible) is clearly Jesus Christ then we are followers of Christ through His Word and His living example/sacrifice, hence the very appropriate title of, "CHRISTians!"

Hebrews 4:1 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Again: Jesus knows your heart with regards to this question you have posed. He loves you anyway.

Now, shall I quote you some verses about the "Clever fool thinking he was so wise?"

I see nothing educated about it. Almost everyone know what is a Christian, so why should their be a word that doesn't exist.
