We've been together for 3 years now (I'm 20, he's 21) & right now he wants his space or time. He wants to go out and have his fun and he's not stopping me from mines but we really don't want eachother to see other people. He was talking to this girl as a friend and he started to have a crush on her. But i'm afraid if I give him time he will get closer to her.
We talked n argued and finally came to an conclusion that if I let him have his time he has to stop talking to her. But he still wants to break up and he says he doesn't want a relationship. And if he did it would be me. He doesn't want me to hate him bc he want to be with me in the future (he plans to settle n 2 yrs) and he told me nobody else is gonna have his babies but me. And he stills wants to hangout n see me, just not as often.
So should I avoid him & for how long? I don't want to avoid him if that makes him to start calling that girl again. I don't want to nag about her. Or any advice on what I should do?!

let him have space but not time...if u keep away from him for too long you won't get back together.
call him every so often(couple times a week) even if they're short convos jus to keep in touch and be close friends still.i think he relaly loves u he jsut needs to find himself.don worry bout the other girl.he loves you and you don't want to mess with her and him that wil complicate things.jus make sure u kidna have an idea of whats goin on w/him so u know he's not "cheating"

I have been in a relation with my boyfriend for almost 3 years now. I think its not fair for you to wait for him to make up his mind. Why would he break up with you....that's my question. Why would he need time. You guys are at the age to where you should be planning on settling down. I'm sorry boys have to be that way and I'm sure you don't feel so happy about "giving him time". You need to decide if this is the person is for you, during this break you should allow any kind of new relationship and go from there. He isn't the man out there ya know.

if he need time then give it to him. that the problem with young
people that are together for long period of time at a early ages
that now most time the person want to spread his wing and see
what out there. it may be what going on with him not saying that
he does not love you. but now he may want to see other people
so just let have the space that need. as for the other girl
if he want to talk to her he will. and if he alway talking about being
with other women not you for children in the future that really
a sign that he want out. so give it to him.

I only read the first paragraph but I think that if he likes this other girl then maybe you two just aren't meant to be. I'm sure you'd rather find out stuff like this before you marry him, then neither of you would be happy. Have you ever heard of If you love it set it free, if it comes back it's meant to be. There is truth to that.

You do know "wanting space and time" is code word for " I want to have sex with other people but i want to be selfish and dont want to lose your forever so i will just string you along by saying i need space" right?

sounds like he wants to move on but dont want you to. Thats just a nice way of telling you to back off dont let this man play mind games with you because you maybe wating for him forever move on and be happy.

call him and tell him that u love him and always will. tell him if he hooks up with this girl that it will hurt u really badly and u don't want to be hurt by anyone especially him.
