Your Que. is a bit confusing, i can not get what you're really asking.
I can tell you this, you have to ask your self, if you're up for the challenge, meaning, new language, environment,..........you seams a bit nervous, that's why I'm asking. Now to the point that, I've done this few times, living in Europe, different countries, it's awesome, totally contrary to north America. I would suggest it in a heart bit. You should first check with the company, see if the job is really available, after all the confirmation's done, if they're not offering you accommodation which is odd, they usually do, you could go on web, looking for ' vandre hjeme', a temporary place for traveler then take it from there, or if you already have a rent free room, good for you! I don't know what else to say, i loved it , missed it a lot, Ive been in Germany many times, Scandinavia, Austria..... i tell you , you get the same chance, its up to you to decide, GOOD LUCK !

ADD: Not true, you can have Germany citizenship while being American, You have to stay there for at least 6-7 years, no criminal record of no kind, then you become one. Or get married, you get your CS, in couple of years,
