i've got theory-approximately that till now, truly. He could have come to die for us whilst there's a miles less painful in touch. And yet He chosen to die on the go. between the main brutal s in historic previous. think of that. could it skill as a lot if He died peacefully? particular and no. particular because of the fact we'd be forgiven. No because of the fact it does no longer be as great a sacrifice. yet particular, i think we'd positioned on a small electric powered chair around our necks. It does no longer have as great a signifigance, for my section, however.

There is he old joke that, if Jesus had been stoned to death instead of crucified, rather than "crossing" themselves before prayer, Catholics would instead take their fists and bang them repeatedly into the side of their heads.

If Jesus were hanged, would the churches have hung a noose over their altars? (In the Protestant Churches, the noose would be empty, but in the Roman Catholics, would the noose still contain a bug-eyed Jesus with a broken neck?)

If Jesus had died in an electric chair, would they all go stiff, open their eyes wide, and convulse rapidly before saying the "Our Father?"

Or if by gas chamber, would they all cough and grab their throats as they began the "Hail, Mary?"

And if it were by lethal injection, would alcohol swabs become a tool of rituals just as are water, wine and those tasty communion wafers?

No. We would ride around in them, chasing true atheists away, and valiantly preaching to all the rest, from the relative comfort of our chairs.

Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Repent, today is the day of salvation.

Oh, that's so old. Lenny Bruce did that one decades ago.

Do you know how expensive it would be to put an electric chair on top of a church??? Probably lightning bolts would be easier.

The Cross wasn't the murder weapon that killed Christ. . .our sins did that. There's nothing inappropriate about wearing a cross or crucifix as a reminder that the sinless Son of God chose to die for us.
