its not degrading to say the military lost, because they didnt lose the war, OUR PRESIDENT lost the war, which didnt "just start", its been going on for 4 years.
the war was started with lies, with no plan B's or failsafes, and the cabinet ignored all the advice given to them from all sides, just as they are now.
its a shame that here in the "land of the free" there are those who will instantly label you a coward for saying this war isnt winning, and was a mistake. it has nothing to do with liberals or conservatives, since a lot of conservatives are saying the same thing, as well as most of the WORLD.
and i have to laugh when guys like Tony Snow say "well, instead of criticizing, why dont you come up with a plan?", when our military leaders have been giving advice since the beginning saying that we didnt have enough men, enough armor, etc, and just recently the Iraq Study Group gave A 72 POINT LIST OF THINGS TO IMPROVE THE WAR, but Bush blew it off entirely. why bother spending the money when you know you're not going to listen? and how can you say "well, whats YOUR plan?" when someone has just handed you one and you didnt listen?
unfortunately, it really looks like the war will eventually become WW3 no matter what happens at this point, whether we stay or go.
$5 says that when election times roll around for the next president the boys will start coming home, because politics is ugly that way, and they'll be used to get votes. its so far beyond sad......
Bush basically looked at a bees nest and said "I CAN SOLVE THAT PROBLEM!", and proceeded to just his fist in it and leave it there, and now we all have to deal with it.

How can you win a war that by congress was never declared an act of war.......just like most of the experienced said, Vietnam all over again.....I wish the young Americans would stand up like they did in the 60's ' and stop being so self concerned, and force the government to listen to THE PEOPLE

We will always lose if we try to fight a half - assed war, being worried about who gets mad at us. Once enough veterans are elected to congress and the Presidency, we will have a real war. Then the bad guys will leave us alone or be deleted.
This war will be over only when one side or the other is all gone. It's a fight to the finish with neither side willing to quit.
Next election, vote for the Veteran in the race. It doesn't matter which party. The people who have already put their lives on the line for this country are the only ones we can trust to preserve it.

first of all, very few human beings have the solutions to what's going to truly take place if we withdraw troups from Iraq. Obama isn't considered one of those few human beings, and neither is McCain. in spite of the undeniable fact that, while somebody makes a huge deal concerning to the U. S. "prevailing" the conflict, I chortle to myself. you are able to no longer define all results of wars as victory or loss, this is rather extremely old. That grow to be lower back contained in the days, international places invaded different international places for the sake of conquering them. in recent times, might you talk approximately a conflict as a victory as long as you kill the "vast boss"? on the fee of billions of greenbacks and many lives of infantrymen? what's the component of attempting to "win" this conflict besides? can we ought to gloat to the international that we are #a million? Becuase as a individual who travels plenty, i comprehend that for each 300 and sixty 5 days we live in Iraq, the international hates the U. S. further and extra. rather, we are the laughingstock of the in demand international, because of the fact we are too obdurate to end doing something that would not look exhibiting too many good effects. Obama realizes this a minimum of, and subsequently already made up his strategies. McCain, on the otherhand, desires to make himself look as though a sturdy chief by way of taking the tougher stance and claiming to have the skill to restoration it up along with his protection rigidity awareness.

Sometimes you need to disobey orders and kick the living **** out of the insurgents by invading their neighborhoods and leveling the entire block surrounding each market. This is real war! If they want to be back in the stone age with daily killings, then so much the better... Bring in the airstrikes!!!!
Seriously though, we need to be more aggressive and not be so angry about a few casualities then withdraw, this conflict will not turn into a Vietnamesque situation if we try different methods of dealing with insurgents. Getting out of the armored vehicles and doing more house to house searches, reconstruction, and heavier air support for Iraqi units will help. Don't bow to the master manipulator Democrats!

If you say it enough you can make it so. How badly do you want uw to lose? Militarily, it's a can't-lose situation. Politically, it appears from posts like yours that we are going to vote to lose and then refuse to take responsibility for the loss. If it's lost, it won't be from the administration, and I'm going to hear from my Republican relatives (I'm a Dem.).

I don't agree the war is lost. The war has just begun. The quickest way to win the war is send operators out to the hinter lands and execute the religious warlords who are trying to convert the world to islam.
After a little R&R they get to go back out and start killing the heads of state that support radical religions like islam.
Let's just cut the head off of the snake, instead of chopping little pieces off it's tail.

I agree the war is lost at the moment, and I don't see it getting any better. Today 25 more men were killed.
