They taste different and they look different... but surely chips are chips? Is it the frying method? I need answers!

Kebab shop chips are french fries, bought frozen then blanched and heated when you order them and fried in vegetable oil, chip shop chips are cut fresh from the potato and fried in animal fat.

Kebab shop chips are thinner and supplied frozen in bags but some chipshop chips are hand peeled and sliced potatoe. I once saw a trainee guy doing this behind my local chippie

Kebab shop use frozen chips, chip shops use FRESH potatoes.

there is a great fish and chip shop near my place that make the best chips...they fresh cut their potato chips, preblanch them and then beer batter them...I know it sounds weird, but WOW what great chips!!
But other than that...Fresh cut chips are always the best.

chip shop chips are better for you.....the fatter the chip the less fat!

The difference is flour. Thin fries are cooked as they are were as chippy chips are normally dipped in flour, if not other things.
