Tattoos aren't that bad... here is an easy way to test how it feels... take a safety pin, open it, place it on your skin, and applying mild pressure drag it across your skin. It really doesn't feel that bad. Think about this, the pain level is so low that people go back and get more. Plus, once they get started you get such an adrenalin rush you barely notice it... its an addictive kind of pain... you'll love it.

a tattoo the size of a quarter is not going to look very good over time. and by "over time" i mean within two or three years. it really would need to be bigger than that. and yes, it will hurt because it will be done over bone. it'll probably hurt more than most. i do hope you will consider getting the tattoo a bit larger. maybe the size of a half dollar. good luck!

It probably will a little bit, because its close on the bone. I have four tattoos myself, a large asian dragon spanning waist to waist. A turtle sounds really cute! Someday I'll get a ladybug or turtle on the top of my big toe. :) Good luck and happy ink!

Ankles really aren't that bad. I have both of my ankles done, inside and out. If it actually hits your ankle bone, it kind of tickles, like the whole funny bone thing.

I have a big turtle on my thigh, that spot hurts bad!!

I have a tattoo on my lower back and I don't think it hurt at all! However, that is my opinion my friend went with me to get a tattoo and she almost didn't get hers finished because she thought it was too painful (she also got it on her lower back) I think it all depends on your pain tolerance. Good Luck! Don't let a little pain stop you from getting something you want!

I have a tattoo on my lower back and it hurt so bad on the outline that it became numb when they were coloring it in. But I am here to tell you that my tattoo is no bigger than a nickle and as soon as they were doing it, I regreted it. To think that I was stupid enough to get something permanent like that, that will be there forever. I wish I would have bought some temporary ones instead. Please give it some more thought. Good Luck!

honestly, i think it will hurt to a cetain point, because when i got my tats, the ones that hit more bone hurt the most.

Well why don't you test your tolerance of pain in that area by using pen and write on it. Then imagine it intensified by 10. Thats why I haven't got one.
