historians have no problem being called "Historians". i really don't see any problem with my suggestion. you keep on quoting the Bible, so what's wrong if people call you Biblians? why the sudden revulsion against the term "Biblians" when it is obviously derived from the word Bible?

If it makes you feel better to call Christians Biblians then by all means do so.

I wouldn't mind being called a "Biblian" or whatever, but Christians have been called Christians since Bible times (it's mentioned in the book of Acts). So why would we want to change it?

There is nothing technically wrong with the term; the only problem is that it is not now part of the language and is not particularly attractive as a neologism.

It sounds ridiculous and appeals to the unbeliever because he is always trying to hide himself from the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.

The irony of your idea is that calling us Biblians is still calling us Christians in just a round about way, because Christ is the WORD (Which is the Bible). Read on:

We being CHRISTians have chosen to follow CHRIST who actually is the WORD and who was with God in the beginning, hence John 1:1 which states;

"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word (Which is Jesus Christ) was God."

Since the WORD (The Bible) is clearly Jesus Christ then we are followers of Christ through His Word and His living example/sacrifice, hence the very appropriate title of, "CHRISTians!"

Hebrews 4:1 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Jesus knows your heart with regards to this question you have posed. He loves you anyway.

Well I don't particularly care for christians....but the word Biblians....seems to have a strange effect on me. I would like them better if they changed to Biblians.

I think it's a decent term. It sounds a lot more respectful than "Bible-thumpers"!

I don't see a problem with it. It's pretty much true with most Christians.

If you wish to call me a Biblian, feel free to do so. For I will stand firm for what is right.
