Corinthians 13.;
1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Love is an emotion.
I think true love is when you feel you could just breath the other person into your soul. The thought of life without them is unbearable. You would give them anything and do anything just to see them smile so on and so on. However I think what makes relationships last is that you really like your partner as a person and a friend this is what keeps things going when love isn't enough.
Don't question yourself you know what it is because you have felt it before.

If you ask a couple that have been married for many years they may say love is a building process and each day it can be added or subtracted. The man may say it was his wife's faithfulness and the wife may suggest it was her husband honoring her throughout the marriage. What it seems to be is COMMITMENT as was the case with Christ on the cross. John 3:16 we may know God's love. What is true is that God is love and He loves all of us, even the devil. How do you want to describe love? That is what counts in your life! Just don't let the past interfere with your future.. God bless. Earl

Love is what you make it. I know its hard after your heart has been broking you'll know when love is really. Love is not anything you can discrible. Its and unmistakeable feeling but its something that u really cant put it in to words unless spoken with your heart. Trust me I had the hardest time letting my new love in cause I was afraid of that feeling. And I almost lost the best thing that had ever happen to me. Give it time and you will find out. Good luck.

"Falling in love" and love are too very different things. If you fall in love you can fall out. Love is an embracing feeling of surrender. You know it when its there and you feel it when it goes away. if you keep it in your heart and nurture it , treat it kindly, it can grow. It can make you feel safe ; and happy and causes all sorts of other related happiness & contentment to enter your life. Love can stand by itself...and you know without question it is strong and steadfast. I believe that love is a decision. I believe there is a cupid who has a finely shaped arrow he aims at those he thinks would make a great couple....if you feel its love go for it! If you have to think too much about it ....it's probably just a passing fancy.

wow that is a hard one to answer. i have found it after a divorce. and it took me a very long time to realize it was really love. because of my horrible marriage i think i didn't know what it was when i truly felt it. but i finally realized it's not that fairy tale crap you see on tv or in movies (i mean it is once in awhile) but it's completely accepting that person for who they are and not wanting to change them. putting up with their crap and loving them despite it. realizing when they don't call back it's not a reflection of how they feel it's just the way they are. (in some situations) knowing a person so well you can predict their next move. (almost) and not taking them for granted and them not taking you for granted. they love you despite your crap and accept your crap. you're equals and it all goes both ways. waking up next to them and feeling like you could never imagine another human being being there other than them. being glad that they're there. they're your best friend. when you have a bad day they are the one you want to lean on. and their presence makes you feel better. anyway i hope you find it and i hope this helps. best of luck

It's a very complicated question. The English language doesn't even have appropriate words for "love". There are three main words for love in ancient Greek and they all have different meanings:
Agape
Philos
Eros
Try to look in Wikipedia and read about the meanings:

Love is a basic dimension of human experience that is variously conveyed as a sense of tender affection, an intense attraction, the foundation of intimacy and good interpersonal chemistry, willing self-sacrifice on behalf of another, and as an ineffable sense of affinity or connection to nature, other living beings, or even that which is unseen. It manifests itself in feelings, emotion, behavior, thoughts, perception and attitude. It influences, underlies and defines major patterns in interpersonal relationships and self-identification.

if love was real
noone would get hurt
if love wasnt a lie
we would all be happy
because wed all be loved
and we would all love
but love is just fake
its just an illusion
and noone will ever know
what love really is
because you cant have a meaning
to something that doesnt exist
i wrote this poem saying there is no such thing is love.....when somone says they love you it means they want to screw you ive come to that conclusion.....love isnt real so there is no point in wasting your life trying to search up something when it isnt there to find

An emotion that makes you feel good but overwhelms reason and logic. Lasts 1-2 years at the most.
