In my opinion Toyota's are supremly better than honda's they dont break down as much. My current honda is a 89 and i'v had to change the distributor, timeing and radiator.

my old toyota was a 90 and i never had to touch a thing went up to 260,000 miles almost worry free. and ive heard the simular stories from other toyota drivers.

Both brands are very well built and will last a long time as long as you at least change the oil at least as recommended.

I've owned both, and I prefer Honda mainly because they are more fun to drive. My 19-year-old Honda Accord was purchased brand new and is still running strong and looking good. Sure, the paint on the top is a little dull but I'm sure it could do another 200k.

Depends on the model and the maintenance history. If a car is serviced properly then either brand is great. Your '90 Toyota was probably better maintained than the Honda. Honda's design regarding the ignition control module as part of the distributor is a bad one, causing many people to spend much more than other cars for what should be a cheap fix. If you got 260K on your Toyota without changing the Timing belt then you are lucky and nuts at the same time. This is part of the routine service on today's vehicles and on an interference engine you will ruin your valve body if it breaks. Personally I feel that Toyota is the better make but the difference is pretty slim. Good luck

Go for Toyota. Both are good buys and you will not regret either one. They have good service, good resale value and run a long time. But having owned both, I prefer the Toyota.

However, on a social action perspective, Toyota did not participate in the 9/11 memorial follow-up as much as Honda and all the other major auto players.

Consumer REports has tested EVERY model, and Honda has a much better ranking, with almost all best buys. Toyota used to be that way, but they have fallen.

My first Honda is now 19 years old, still running, and never had a major repair. That's why I bought another one five years ago. Same story with that one. I'm sold on Honda.
