Just straight up tell her. do it in a nice way though. You don't want to say, stop chewing like a cow. Just ask her if she would please stop chewing her gum loud that it is irritating.

While you are in the office, ask her what she is eating. When she tells you she is just chewing gum then tell her that you could hear her all the way over to your area and it sounded like she was eating something. Maybe this will let her know how loud she is and she will stop.

I know some people chew gum hard the more they concentrate, probably due to stress or anxiety. If you're afraid to say something, maybe you could get a radio to cover up the chewing.

One thing i try to do is say it off the collar- eg one day when you are sitting around and discussing stuff
just say hey girls what is a pet peev you have; ' i can't stand it when ppl chew gum loudly it is gross'
make it casual and dont direct at her!

You can't win this one. Any comment you make will most likely cause an angry reply. Then you still have to work with this person. So you will have to put up with it. Personally I don't like gum chewing either. Why would anyone enjoy looking like a cow? No point in trying to drop hints either. She won't get it.

There is no nice way. I did that once in my class. We were friends later and she said that me chewing my gum was so annoying. I told her that she should have said so, no big deal! I'm sure she won't mind you asking her to stop.

Try making a joke. When she's chewing like a cow, say, "Wow! You *really* are liking that gum!!" Worked for me when my co-worker was chewing like that.

Send an anonymous memo out to everyone in the office about maintaining a professional environment. Or talk to your boss about it maybe the secretary can create the memo and distribute it so it doesn't seem like you are the one that it bothers. Even though you are the one. lol

Maybe you can kindly ask her to chew her gum a bit quietly. One of my co-workers were like that. She would just smack her gum loudly while working. I asked her to maybe stop... She did, after our manager told us NO GUM. Anywho, I suggest you choose. Either hear her smacking her gum " Smack smack smac ", or ask her nicely to stop. :)

oh god, i hate loud chewers too.
just say: excuse me. i don't mean to be rude or anything, but you are chewing your gum kind of loud and it's distracting me.
and if she doesn't stop, pull out some head phones and listen to music. maybe she'll get the hint and chew more quietly.
