It's the same reason the 737 crashes more than the 747 -- they are more frequently used.
And I also believe, why I am not laying fault on those who maintain the choppers, I believe it is because of the atmosphere the choppers are in. They are most likely being constantly used, and the sand probably gets into all the parts of the motor. I can imagine that could freeze some of the parts.
A few of them may have been shot down, and a few could have crashes indirectly related to being shot at, but a majority are mechanical issues that just happen.

The only reason that you've "noticed" that the Crashhawks..er, Blackhawks were falling out of the sky is because the few instances that exist are trumpeted over and over and over again in the media.
Army Aviation has an excellent safety record, even accounting for combat losses.

You know something is wrong do you? Have you ever been to iraq or afghanistan, or anywhere in the middle east? No, i don't think so. And you have no idea how hard it is to fly a helicopter, let alone fly a helicopter in those weather conditions. So, im sorry, you will just have to accept the fact that helicopters shouldnt even be able to fly in the first place, they break almost every rule in physics, so imagine flying something like that in the worst conditions on the planet.

Helicopters are pretty complex.
More than say, a car.
Complex machines can fail catastrophically.
If your car stalls, you can just pull to the side of the road.
Also, no one shoots RPG's or Stingers at your Camaro.
