Thanks everyone. We will learn to accept this. It is funny. Doesn't matter the size of laundry either. She is only 11 months old and weighs about 9lbs and drags around beach towels.

she has probably observed you folding the laundry and thinks that you are playing with the clothes. So, she thinks she'll give the laundry a "go" and is probably wondering why you find the silly stuff so fascinating that you spend an inrodinate long time at them! Right now, she is talking to the neighbor's cat by mental telepathy saying, "What's wrong with my human? She has been pawing these things in a basket over and over again...does it several times a week. Should I be worried?"

Are they still warm? Cats are attracted to the warmth and smell of fresh laundry and like sleeping in it. She may be trying to build a nest all her own out of the fresh, clean laundry and it may still carry a trace scent of the people she loves. It's a compliment, really, even if it is annoying - but cute. Also, how old is she? This could also have direct bearing on this behavior as it can be a kittenish trait.

I suspect the reason for this is the laundry soap or softener you are using. It is attracting the cat and the cat looks at a heap of clothes and thinks to itself.....hmmmm....what can I do with them, so she rearranges your clothes :) I guess the best way to stop her is cover up the laundry basket or put it in a cupboard. Just pretend you have a 2 years old and you have to child proof your laundry.

So annoying. But, it's something she like to do! My brothers cat dragged a dish towel around with him, and sat by the dryer until it was finished. My cat Jerry climbed up on the table behind my mom's chair to get his little doll toy. He thought he was a dog. Mickey chases invisable mice. There's nothing cuter than a kitty!

They are probably still warm and she likes the feeling of clean warm clothing. The only way to stop here is to make sure she's not around when you do this chore, or keep a water bottle around and squirt her when she does it. After a while she should get the hint.

Its probably just a quirk. Cats are quirky. My sisters cat brings her pens or objects shaped like pens. No one knows why. Maybe presents. I don't know. Some cats like the smell of body odor (gross but true, I had a cat who would go straight for a persons armpits. Or maybe shes playing pranks on you. Who knows. Cats are quirky

To show you who's the boss, she owns it if she rubs her scent on it!
