i guess the man above because if we all had the same taste then there wouldn't be someone for everyone. that is just my guess and a little faith. i mean no offence by it. great question though. i like to see real thoughtful questions like this one on here once in a while.

It's our genetics. Since all of us are different we all have different likes just as we do with food. It is also how we were raised because if you were raised in a superficial family that felt you had to look perfect you'd probably go more for someone of a model type. But if you were raised baised on love and morals the looks might not mean as much and you'd have different turn ons in what other people have to offer.

Our perceptions of beauty are socially constructed. Our parents, friends, the media, teachers, subculture, etc. all influence our "tastes" in the opposite sex.
Although I have heard that scientists believe we are programmed to find people attractive that share similar characteristics to ourselves. I have dark hair, green eyes, I am intelligent, a free spirit and vegan, and I actually do prefer guys with those characteristics too, so maybe it is correct.

This is not an exact answer to your question but each person's smell is unique. I am talking about the smell the give off has to do with whether we feel a "sexual connection" with them. It is not a good or bad smell and we do not even realize it. They say this is the reason that daughters often find their fathers smell offensive. Dr. Oz was on Oprah and I thought this was interesting.

I've heard that it is all in the mind that the person we choose it is actually the perfect idea we have from ourselves that we find love when we find that person that have all those qualities we actually want from ourselves and admire.. most of the time is the totally opposite to what we are.
Or something like it.

I like petite girls with round butts, small boobs and big nipples. I think I got that "taste" from having good lovers with those characteristics

i think of it particularly is stupid, to be honest, and slightly infantile. adult males and girls are actually not opposites. they are diverse in some approaches, confident, yet asserting that each physique adult males are X or like A, or that each physique women are Y or like B is in simple terms idiotic and unfair generalization.
