I will agree with you that most Christians are like that, and I think it's sad because it ruins it for the rest of us Christians. I try my best to not do any of those things that you listed off.

I am a Christian and I have yet to be attacked by an atheist. I am a regular joe who happens to attend Church, prays and reads their Bible. I have studied other religions and have come to the conclusion that Christianity is the only religion for me. I have never threatened anyone with hell just because they did not believe the same as me.

Right now go back and read through some of the questions and answers on this site and see if that is true. I do think that 1-8 does happen a lot . I don't see it as coming out of 98% of Christians. But as a Christian I read this question right after reading several other Christian bashing questions in a row. The crap can go both ways.

Well, it's not necessary to point out, but, Christians vary from denomination to denomination.
Example: a Catholic or an Orthodox Christian will most likely have a different viewpoint from an Evangelical or Fundamentalist Protestant.
I'm Catholic Christian myself, & #4 does not apply to me because I know alot about the different world religions(though I do not believe them).
I should also point out that since posting on Yahoo! Answers, & also on the religion & belief forums, that atheists & other non-Christians **DO** attack Christian posters, so it goes both ways.

Why do people expect Christians to be perfect??? I can say from personal experience Christians are just as screwed up as everyone else. I answer only from my experiences of God's word. Quote only what I've truly WITNESSED(which would shock most people). I think some Christians do get power trips, but believe me...... nothing you can say can effect them like the price God makes them pay for being that way.

quoting a bible verse is kind off in possible, you rip the meaning of it out of its context,at least the whole chapter should be quoted then.
most of the time its about judging another, and if im not mistaken, that's something the shouldn't do either, according to their own believes.
one that thinks about being attacked, isn't truly a true believer, otherwise they would just trust god, whatever happens.
indoctrinated as they are, they are not able no more to decide for themselves.(but that apply for almost all religions.)
in my opinion, the more religions being created, the more we divide ourselves from another, and that's just the paradox of it,i thought religion was supposed to get us all closer together.
sadly it's been Miss used for ages now.

When you found the most precious jewel, you will sell all your other possessions to purchase it.
When you have your own Creator sacrifice His own Son as atonement for your sins, and all we need is to obey him ,
Do you want to go through millions of years of uncertain-ness (Satan induced false religions) which most often said you will get to Nirvana (no more existent).
Religion that came 500 years after Christ - and used sex and lust
as rewards to believers, and hatred for the true religion Christianity saying kill all Christians and Jews to go to heaven.
So why should not believers of true God not be powerful when they preach God's Salvation to the unheard.

Well I've had similar encounters with devout Christians. Then again, I've dealt with that crap from others of various faiths and religions. I had a Satanist quoting from his bible and yelling in my face before. It just sucks (also is very annoying) when people just accept things for what they are without any opinion of their own. I think the best way to deal with that is to let it go in one ear and completely out the other. Yelling and provoking them is only going to make it worse and more annoying.

I'd say that your statement is true of 98% if you're talking about Christian fundamentalist. They're a whole different breed. Whenever you get a group of people (such as fundies) together who only believe what one source of information tells them (in this case, the bible), they're bound to sound, act and think alike because they don't allow outside stimulus to teach them anything different.
