A Catholic priest who has the ability to preform the Exorcist procedures is a very strong SPIRITUAL man. There is not one exorcist in each Archdioceses or Parish, as a priest who is an exorcist, must be spiritually strong and able to withstand very strong negative powers for many days and nights, during the process of exorcism. So a priest who has the ability to do this is well known to each Bishop in an Archdiocese and if it is determined that when one is needed, this priest is sent for to travel to the place he is needed. And yes there is an office in Rome that is the center of information and records of Exorcism, but it is NOT a school... It is a center where priests who are able to preform exorcism are registered, and Rome must be notified that an exorcism is necessary before a priest is given permission by this office and assigned and sent by this Rome office/center to take care of the problem. This office keeps records of all exorcism that are preformed and the consequences and data of that procedure. Hope this answers your questions. Good Luck!

International Association of Exorcists is a Roman Catholic organization that was founded by six priests including the world famous exorcist of Rome Father Gabriele Amorth and Father Jeremy Davies in 1993.
Membership is restricted and exclusive. A priest must have permission of his bishop to join and they meet biannually in Rome. The association sends out a quarterly newsletter where members can tell of particularly difficult or interesting cases.
Within the Roman Catholic Church a priest may only do an exorcism with the express consent of his bishop.

Catholics do no longer pray to Mary & saints promptly they ask for Mary & the Saints to wish for them!. with regards to the rest, the Catholic church has finished many exorcisms, in today's Society international & church exorcisms are purely finished after an examine of condition. IE the suggested haunting/possession isn't using fact of psychological wellness or the different condition. it relatively is totally uncommon to get an exorcism even though it does happen & in no way made public, it additionally must be sanctioned by using a bishop of the diocese. definite effects could nicely be constructive & prevail yet no longer consistently.

Yes, it does. It does not advertise this fact, but it does. Pope JPII attempted an exorcism in St. Peter's Square a couple of years before his death on some delusional unfortunate in the crowd. Papers covered it. You could probably still google it.
Still a lot of the hocus pocus in Catholicism--and a lot of other religions. It's kind of their charm.

It's a special "order", but yes. I actually think that each Diocese is required to have one. I know that they have one in Chicago, Cardinal Bernadin's old Archdiocese.
