Assume EVERYONE is out to use you until they prove to your satisfaction they aren't.....as a general rule, if you think they are, they are. Else you wouldn't have the doubt to ask the question. Listen to your instincts you have them for a reason.

Use your common sense and the feelings you get. You should have enough strength of mind to know if someone is a true friend. If you are at odds with your feelings you can always put it to a test. Do it on the sly, and ask the friend to do something extra special for you, something that will take them out of their way and may take some time to get done. You will be able to see their reaction to what you have asked. That should tell you if they are a real friend or a user. A true friend will do, or try to do just about anything for you. A user will find excuse after excuse for why it is just not possible right now.

I hate to state the obvious but this question is vague. but, in the spirit of helping a fellow moron, I'm going to try.

lets say its a woman, and she's using you for a ride to and from work. If she's giving up the pussy, well...fine, its a fair trade. if not, make her pay gas. if she says "I thought we were friends" then you know she's using you.

I'd give more examples, but this is a real limpdick question.

You can sense it. They lie, they connive, and they give you something first before asking for a favour to make you feel obliged to help. Be brave to say no even if you have taken something from them which they offer to give you without informing you that they want something from you. Don't feel trapped by them.

you can't! Basically, just be yourself, if you want to help the person, go ahead and don;t expect anything in return. And if the person is using you, just always remember "what goes around comes around" and you'll be much happier that way!
