Status quo has been proven not working.

Adding 21,000 troops is not enough to really quell the violence but the number is already to big for everyone.

There's no effort on the political side, on the contrary Bush is making more enemies with his "toughness".

So what's wrong to pull out immediately and focus on something else more important?

The enemy will follow? Their hatred was built long before the way and they will come anyway. Better find a way not to grant them the visa.

If Bush and Chenney are so worried about enemies, there're quite a few who have proven themselves having WMD. N.Korea, Pakistan, or even India and China? Why don't US launch a war against each of them instead?

Iran would move in as soon as we moved out. Do you really want that to happen? Read some history about the Iran and Iraq. That would not be good for anyone.... especially the US and Isreal.

There's nothing wrong.

People are so narrow minded here. We are trying to make an even bigger mistake to cover an already big mistake.

"Until we win" - until there's no terrorist attack forever? As long as there's ideology conflicts and human beings, there WILL be "terrorists". US invades any country it wants to get in for no proven evidence, it's terrorist behavior in its own definition!

"3000 troops died for nothing" - so we should add another 3000 till it means anything?

"What about Iraqis?" - they kill themselves no matter what. It's Sunni and Shi'a and Kurts; it's Iraq and Iran and Saudi and Syria; it'a s problem starting 2000 years ago! How would an all-Christian-200-year old country ever understand??

Because then the insurgents and Saddam's friends would take back the government, because the Iraqi government, police and military is not yet strong enough to fight completely on their own. A total immediate pull out would be a slap in the face to everyone who fought and died in the war. I mean everything we have fought for so far would have been for nothing.

It would imply a retreat, a route or a defeat. It would remind Americans of our retreat from Vietnam and Somalia and the psyche of the country may not be able to handle that.

With that being said, a gradual exodus from Iraq is inevitable, we can't stay there forever. from a tactical standpoint we can't from a financial standpoint we can't. Eventually the enemy are going to begin inflicting more losses on the U.S. ground forces as we are starting to see already.

If we pulled out, here is what would happen;
THE TERRORISTS WOULD FOLLOW US HERE AND KILL US!!! A LOT OF THEM ARE ALREADY HERE HIDING AND JUST WAITING FOR THE WORD TO ACT! Over there, the terrorists look just like the civilians. The ones here look just like foreign tourists or students or even weird speaking Americans. They are every bit as evil, maybe even more so than hillary!

What about the innocent iraqis who would be left with untrained police or not enough protection?
We invaded their country. Its our responsibility to stay the course and fix what we broke.
Thats why I dont agree with an immediate total pull-out.

I didn't agree with the invasion but if the U.S. pulls out now, it'd be worse. If the Americans stay there longer, more of them will die. It's a big price to pay.
